And? It's not like SE can't change how PlayOnline works.
It's not like they even need to change the CC info now anyway. Customer Service is extremely slow, just changing the password is enough. Unless the thief doesn't have multiple characters, theres absolutely no real reason to change the information unless they intend to sell the character itself, rather than just pillage it's equipment.

I got that warning message on FFXIah this morning at work as well. Its really annoying and you get scared to play when you hear about all the hacking lately.
I hope all goes well for you, Jussy![]()
Stay proactive, make sure that your OS and applications are up to date and you're running anti-virus. It's an easy thing to do to make sure you're not the "low hanging fruit".
It sucks this had to happen. I know what it's like to lose a lot of time spent in the matter of a day. Though most likely from just cruising around the net, you might of picked up a cookie and it 'gently' installed a worm or something, I let my computer sit last night, and when my PC isn't being used, I turned off the hybernate (SP) crap and it runs a virus scan automatically and it picked up a worm. Worms I assume can be like a keylogger, accessing files on my computer and crap and activate when a game is used. Good luck on getting your account back and I agree, PoL needs to grow some balls and actually become more "user friendly". They just use enough energy to get paid by the stupid people who don't understand anything we're talking about. Again, good luck. I'll be praying for ya.
Man not even the Jammer Leeches can fix this fiasco. ;~;

Night Brings Bad Dreams, Bad Dreams and Guillotines.
Having worked in customer service for 4 years, I just wanted to seriously encourage the people who do get their account hacked not to settle for a "I'm sorry there is nothing more I can do" response. All reps have a supervisor, and that supervisor at the least has another higher up and you CAN get to them if you are persistent and don't accept no as an answer. As you can see just through the OP's posts, there are various ways that his issues are handled depending on the person, and as usual the customer service rep isn't always capable of doing anything because they are usually very limited, however.... go up the line and eventually you'll find someone that can and should be able to help you, even if its the tech/programmer that they use, in a different office. They have people within the organization that can access your information whether they admit to it not.
So this is more of a suggestion for people calling up POL, if you're not getting the help you need demand to speak to a higher up. Sometimes reps are even trained to deter you from that, because its not always a good thing if they have to pass you to their supervisor but don't accept their typical "I can't do anything for you" response. If they can't, then its their duty to get someone that can (for the situations happening recently)

Trojans/hacktools were blocked from going onto my computer on two occasions when I went to FF Somepape, both incidents on Dec 3 looking at my log.
As far as what SE could do, I know sites I have to go onto at work ask you up to 10 questions, and if you have forget or have to change your password, or have questions about your access they ask you 3-4 to prove you are the person with access.
And even if you never call, they make you answer one or two every so often just to make sure it's you. If SE did this, it would not be as hard to regain your account. When the hacker signs on, the questions pop up, they can't answer, and at the very least they're locked out of your account as well.
You call in and answer the questions, and you get your account back, reset the passwords and move on.
Edit:
This was one of them, 7:30 on Dec 3rd by my log. Tried when I went to FF Somepage.Originally Posted by Jussy

Someone on killingifrit posted a post that he called SE and asked them if it would be possible for them to store a "temporary password" on his account, so that if he calls in to them and gives them it, his password would be changed back to that one or something. Might be worth trying out for those that feel they want some extra security?
