Any word yet on being able to block Moderators/Community leaders/Leaders of LS communities Cmdrfly?

I was just curious if there was an update on this, tired of hearing Epeen +1s from specific people. Any word on whether you will enable blocking of them or not? Thanks for your time.

Now why would you want to block a moderator? One got under your skin? D:
Also, epeen+1.

lmao xal. There are certain members in this website that i might want to block. Not to cause E peen and no it isn't you. But i just dont like the fact that i dont have this option for some of them because they were given "Mod" status because they control a LS community on this site.

I spoke to Cmdrfly about this candidly like 2 weeks/1 month ago,and he said he'd talk to Reeve about this.

Wait....You can't put mods on ignore? Much less the mods of a LS forum based on this site? I've wanted to do it a couple times, but i usually don't put people on ignore unless they are completly useless. So far only one person on ignore.

Newp, you cannot. I personally would like to, and they would be the only few that are on my ignore list. I really would like to and do not think its fair that they receive similar benefits as mods.

I recall having the same problem some time ago, those people are gone now so no problem, but I think there might be a way to circumvent that block/ignore problem, it should have something to do with adding a "special mod" status to the ls sections. This might require some template tweaks or updates, not 100% positive though.

Were looking into this. Were going to have to set up a new group seperate for LS leaders and the such, should be done within a couple of days like.

...or you could just skip past the posts of people you don't like manually.

Yeah, kinda like I did for the quoted post

I kid <3

it looks like it might be an all or nothing thing. Users can ignore fake mods AND us or not ignore either.

I may be able to add a mod for this... hmmm
I looked into this myself and I see what Reeve is saying. Under the Ignore system, there is one related option: "Allow users to ignore moderators".

We cannot differentiate private forum mods from administrative mods. Perhaps in a future revision of the Ignore system, or via some hack therein.

So LS mods have the same treatment as regular mods? lol interesting.

I hope this gets changed in the near future >.<;

We are looking at it Jya. As has been stated 2x -- it is not as simple as just making 'different' moderators.

The makers of vBulletin consider what we call 'linkshell' moderators the same as regular 'forum' mods. The system is doing the right thing.

I am unfamiliar with vBulletin, but the only way I can see getting around this is to create a group with moderator-like privileges that do not have the moderator status. Then moving all linkshell mods into that group for their respective forum. This way they are not called moderators by the system and thus can be ignored everywhere (even if you are in their linkshell forum).

I am pretty sure this can be done. On older vBulletins I know it could be as a I ran a site just like this in the past. Just a matter of changing privileges.

I guess it is to hard to just ignore people? Meh, whatever. I have all of one person on my list, and they are perma-banned anyway.

couldnt you just allow regular posts to be ignored by mods but not announcements? coding the announcement to have a 'see all' effect?

Thanks Arc, Cmdr and the other mods/Admins. I appreciate this.

And Rannoch please stop derailing/Flamebaiting outside of the Flameboards.
