Tired of racism

So yesterday night i was helping my sister level her whm at level 32 when i invite this person named Darkdante. and it's late so there are usually a few JP ppl on. then minutes later i get a /tell from Darkdante saying that.
"I want a NA party im sorry i dont want to deal with racist japanese."
so then i have a little talk with him/her saying there not being racist. it's just that we are not used to there way of playing and crap. and Since im part JP i took what he said offensivly. Im tired of "some" NA's thinking that JP ppl are racist which they arent. it's just that we are not used to there culture and rules of playing. so it's so fucking stupid how i had to see that /tell from someone. Dont fucking stereo type(sp) and get your shit straight. before you say crap.

Kettle black. You don't want people to make genrelizations based on race, but you make a huge one about NA players. Sorry, but you lost me right there. I have partied with jp players, some were good, some were dicks, just like NA. Culture has nothing to do with it.

darkdante happens to be part asian (i think part japanese actually, not 100% sure though -.-) as well. The fact is that some JP are... prejudice against people from other nations (i wouldn't say racist... it limits the problem too much), and some "NA" are racist towards the JP community... it works both ways, and in general their reasons for being such is based on negative interactions they have had before.

Wanting to avoid uncomfortable situations is not something to admonish another person about... I have had Japanese members leave when i invited English speaking members... and send me really nasty tells about 外人　only to find out that i am also one. It gets frustrating after a while, and while i understand your complaint its not like he was rude about his declining the party offer. At least he told you upfront rather than join the pt and than leave...

If you want the perceptions of some of the "NA" community to change you will have to give them a reason to change them. Many people have been burned and turned away simply because they do not know japanese, or even if they do they are limited to ro-maji. It would be nice for the racism/nationalism to stop, but complaining about it and not recognizing the other side of it won't accomplish that.
 
It's true not all Japanese players are not racist.. in fact a lot aren't. They just prefer to communicate and have different values in a party than NA do. As was in another link this JP player talked about how NA PTs will replace members as they go and JP will not. It also talked about how NA will join a party and not stay for more than 30 minutes before leaving (dunes... is where I really see that) and JP will party for hours on end. The cultural differences cause for the no NA PT.. but then again there are those JP that think NA are too weak like a group Artem was in. The only other NA in it could speak JP and the JP were insulting them to their faces and yet they thought was behind their backs... So within seconds.. Artem and that NA disbanded and warped back to jeuno leaving the JP there to be dumbfounded and 2 short on a party (Artem being a bard and I believe the other was a mage job too.. or a tank.. something very important to the party). Then there are people like Lucifar who seem to hate NA unless they are those that kiss his ass for things they want. He just uses NAs for his own good and will give them gifts to keep their loyalty... and has the mentality that this game is a "JP ONLY" game and that they have first right to all HNMs... such is why they will MPK... however I believe shiu told me that they just find it a game and that they laugh if they are MPKed.. so I'm gonna test this with Lucifar I think ^^ as soon as my BST is up.. I'm gonna charm and then release and laugh ^^v

the idea that all japanese always start and end together and go for hours is simply bullshit. do some do that sure, but there are others that are looking for the quickest exp gain and will invite my happy ass even though my search comment says I don't speak Japanese. Do I mind pting with them no. I can get all the information I need with the auto translator. Whats the battle plan, in what order do we do our skillchains etc. I have never had a problem being in a japanese pt, and none have ever had a problem with me in fact I quite enjoy there broken english followed by {please use simple words}

Yes I AM Japanese and I do belive in equality, and yes I am generalizing the JP crowd when I said that to you, but you know what? Its the truth, I didn't feel like putting up with that shit. And I don't believe i was bein an ass when I said it, If i was then i'm sorry. But I beleive I was polite, you even made me sound polite in how I said it, so i dunno what the problem is. Its not very much unlike to what YOUR KIND says.

Do you know they even have a word for you?? Half Jap? Dirty Blood? Does this ring a bell or are you so totally clueless? I know not all of them are like this, but I don't put up signs, I don't tell to them personally, I don't send disrespectful tells like "You are American? {That's too bad}{see you again}". But I felt I did need to explain to you, and give you the benefit of doubt of not bein a racist, since I thought you were an American with American values, namely equality.

Actually it didn't make me mad, I laughed at him when he said it. It was the stupidity of the insult that made me mad i guess. And the fact he had to make it really anti American by making sure it was the most patriotic wrestler there was......... Maybe i was mad.
 
DarkDante is someone I've run across in a variety of ways in my play time. He's always been a good example of who I want to play with.

I don't pt with JP players in the NA prime-time unless I have to for no other reason then I can't communicate overly well.

I've actually had a number of good, friendly JP parties in the early morning though, and the nicest player I ever met was JP.

The basic point is, you should have accepted Dark's answer and dropped it there. It was his choice to decline the party for ANY REASON HE WANTED.
 
I'm not too sure what obvious injustices that were done to the African Americans many years ago has to do with Final Fantasy, but I still say WHITEY MUST BURN!!!!
