Geforce 8800 and FFXI (From Kam)

Agree. Benchmarking the system is one thing, benchmarking the system against the ffxi engine is another... :) (like Futuremark supports SLI where ffxi engine does not, etc...) Damn.. 11,567 is nice!!! I wonder how would your system perform under Vista now that it's officially supported.. since...

Geforce 8800 and FFXI (From Kam)

what sort of benchmark results you guys are getting with high-end systems like your kos-mos? I strive to break the 9999 limit but so far have not be able to pass that in Vanadiel benchmark3 lol I found that with a system that rates at around ~9500 can run pretty much everything smoothly...

    POL News: All Worlds Maintenance

This might be way off the topic but have you seen a router that got a cut (not unplug) network cable on it? like in a disaster situation such as 911. It's funny to see the router still thinks there sockets established on that interface and continues to route messages through there and retries...

Very good point... :) When you are doing layer 4-7 load-balancing and/or traffic shaping in the internet cloud (or backbone if you'd call it), it's really hard to determine what goes wrong in the traffic. It would be nice if we can call the Japanese technical team and trouble shoot directly...

    POL News: All Worlds Maintenance

Agree :) SE made a "number" of updates on th 8th JST and the 9, it's a question to me that: 1) which update "would" have caused this... 2) is it really one of the update that caused RO or it's the backbone? I am not sure lol That's why it states in ITIL best practice for a failed change to...

    POL News: All Worlds Maintenance

I think SE should provide us free VPN access for the interim lol The problem might not necessarily be in the application layer. If it's in the 3 or 4 layer like the traffic shaping problem vonage's been having with various ISPs... than... um... idk lol Anyhow, have anyone try using a Socks5...

Sorry I'm at work right now and I can't remember lol It starts with 207.xxx.xxx.xxx I think and it traceroutes to JP subnets in less than 5 hopps if I remember correctly. This IP address does not have a DNS entry when I performed a reverse lookup.

I see that a news thread has turned into a trouble shooting thread? well... has anyone try to tcpdump the data using ethereal while you're getting R0 ? I see packets being dropped (at my end - the client side) from an IP in Japan and the port range is around 33xxx. These packets can...
