The board you listed is accepts 22nm CPUs (Ivy-Bridge) Socket: LGA 1155 which is currently common for the general consumer market. The LGA 2011 board Strid is referring to are for more of the expensive processors (which I don't think you'll be getting) I would personally go with this board...

I think you should just get a graphics card and throw it in your current system. Depending on what power supply you have you may need to upgrade that too, but again it depends.

The Intel Core series should still be good. If you were looking to upgrade I would recommend putting it towards a better graphics card. Because if you ever upgrade your PC at least you can keep your GPU. For around $150 price range AMD 7850/7870 will probably score you around high 4,000 lower...

As long as you didn't experience any stuttering you should be ok. This time around the scores will improve with a better graphics card. (in FFXI I believe it was more CPU intensive...didn't matter much if you had a higher end graphics card) I am only getting around 4550 mark on Maximum test...

Also in the game it appears to be more options to change the size of the chat/log window. I don't remember seeing this a while back. Works nice with the new options in the config to change the resolution, no more registry changes!
