When you flag the mission in jeuno, you still need the Rank points. So when you traded the crystals to the guard in bastok, it gave you the necessary Rank points to flag the mission in jeuno. That's why :)

wow Two of my friends had this happen to them. When you re-install or retry it, make sure you dont delete any key files. One of my friends had to reinstall windows because of it. I'm not sure exactly what he deleted, but it was an option. So read carefully.
