This is a support thread, but I need feedback.

How many users are leaving blog comments that are being moderated? Are there any users that can post unmoderated posts on some people's blogs and moderated posts on others?

Moderated just means it must be approved before showing up?

I am noticing an enormous number of comments showing as moderated.

I don't really moderate mine...since well everyone is entitled to their opinion, as long as they're not flaimbaiting anyone that's already commented or the blog writer I don't think comments are harmful.

People have the option to change their blogs to have comments moderated before they let it post.

"Moderate comments before displaying" as shown in the blog area.

So you may want to check the users account to see if that has been checked off.

I had "Moderate before displaying" clicked and it didn't work. Comments were being posted anyway, so I unclicked it. Cheebs mentioned that she couldn't edit her comment on my blog and after looking at the settings, I don't see what the issue is :/

I posted a comment in a blog and my post had a "Moderated" tag on it but my post was made instantly so I doubt that it had a chance to be moderated.

I don't recall having any comments of mine (ever) show up as needing to be moderated.

I also don't think I have comments on mine set to need approval, but nobody comments on my blog because I rarely write about anything anyone particularly cares about lol.

I lost my blog post so I forgot what was there now =p

Yes that's the only time I have run into an issue attempting to edit a comment.

I have never chosen to moderate comments left on my blogs.

FYI ~ I am STILL unable to edit the comments left on Mires blog entry.

I left a comment on a blog recently and the green 'moderation' tag was on it. Typically that means the person that needs to moderate it (to approve) can see it but everyone else cannot. So I assume that means the person who's blog I commented on can see the post, and I can see it because I made it, but no one else can until they approve it. That's just the way I understand it, not saying thats how it is.

As far as comments go, users have the power to delete and block (as we already know) certain people or things from their blogs. We have a lot of control on our blogs, but I think any kind of continual or harassing comments should be removed and acted upon by moderators. Again, yes, we have control over that in our own settings as its "our area" but bothersome people should be poked.

As far as content within the blogs? I think we know what is and is not acceptable now and I hope that we can put a few things in place to make sure those that choose to go the inappropriate route get treated as any other rulebreaker. Just because its a blog, doesn't make it any less within the realm of QCDN.

Wtfack. That doesn't make sense :(:(:(

Ok, thanks for the input. One more question.

Does anyone see comments on blogs not-your-own with the moderation flag?

Is appreciated.

I will keep looking! Though, I have a feeling everything is working as it is intended, but varied due to user settable options.

I can edit comments on a couple different blog entries I responded to.

Mire gone and messed things up!

Well... people could edit themselves on my first blog, just not this last one. I find that odd because my settings didn't change between the two.

Edit: I'll post a test.

Your test blog has editing comments available.

Ok so 1 random blog couldn't and can't be edited. I'll take the test down now :p
