I watched the story on this last night. As much as I like the idea because it further opens society’s eyes...

My overall opinion is people need to let shit go, pot is not the enemy in the drug war that's for damn sure.

I don't like the idea because it's only a matter of time before states/provinces etc cash in on the idea. This is the wrong way to go about it. The people who need medical marijuana should not be taxed because they suffer chronic pain and so-on.

Marijuana should be taxed when our governments are finally pro-active enough to legalize it for the general public and start the structuring process of introducing it into everyday life in the sense that you can purchase it from licensed dealers. Hah, licensed dealers =)

Anyway it should be monitored and distributed like alcohol and tobacco with standards and restrictions in place. Then tax the general public that wants it for recreational purposes. Not the sick for crying out loud!

I loved seeing this old-school hippy explain the positive impact on his city, which he was quite right about. The city was highly in debt and although the taxes made from this venture are minimal just imagine if the clientele wasn't limited to ppl with degenerative diseases or a doctors note.
