As someone who's not a crazy Atlus/Capcom/NIS fan(I mean I like their games but I won't buy any game just because of its character list)... how is the game just as an RPG. I'd hate to think it's resting on its fan service and isn't producing a game that stands on its own.

As a stand alone RPG it would stink. You have to be familiar enough with all the characters to understand a lot of the subtleties that are included. The battles system is pretty complicated, to be expected, but for the 20 minutes i watched a friend play it, I had a blast.

It actually has a traditional world map.

Picked this up yesterday and.... meh, it's alright. I imagine it will get better as I keep playing but the start feels really slow. The battles are needlessly long and the process of searching for souls on the world map (walking around a few steps and pressing a button to do a scan) is quite tedious. Basically, you want to play this if you like the characters, otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.

I think IGN reviewer didn't even play that game. They didn't mention alot of other feature that was in that game. Battle system is complicated but 30min-1hr, you'll get the hang of it. ALOT of upgrading and synethsising in this game if you wanna get better weapon, armor, accessory, and other items. IGN is a JRPG hater lol. Overall the game isn't bad. just take long time to do something. DLC coming soon, so we may get to see other character soon.

Another Reviewer from Playstation Official Magzine, rated 3/5 cuz graphic is dated back around 2000s. Since the game is on PS3, Graphic should look like something you see on COD4 lol

I would rate this game 8/10 like any other review from the users that played the game. i took 2 away cuz there is still bugs need to be fixed like slight lag in some fight and loading. Gamespot user rated at 8.3/10 and Gamefaqs around 8/10, so is pretty good. I never trust those reviewer from IGN, and other Magazine or Website that rates games, they're mostly bias and are more into american style gaming (like High End graphic detail, Sports games, racing games)
