Desynth God Armor!?

I'm pretty sure it's photoshopped....
When you fail a synth due to aggro or someone casting on you it says something about "Synthesis Failed, you lose the crystal and ingredients you were using".
Ask Svina though, he sees alot more failed synthesis due to casts on him than I do o.O
 
In the thread several people have said they have tried it ..

They got a crystal and it said skill not high enough.. It doesn't look fake to me. Maybe someone should try it?
 
Legalus is right, when you are hit by a spell, song, mob or you zone (like on airship) , the message you get is Synthesis was interupted, you loose the crystal you were using and all your ingredients.

If what the person on the thread says it's true, about not being high enough, then it IS a possible recipe to attempt. Question is... WHY???

Desynth is hard to achieve at any level, it has a really high rate of failures. At 95, I still have to try 3-4 times before I succeed in desynthing a goblin mask.

Unless you have all the furniture that prevents you from loosing material while failling a desynth (Mog Enhancement: Desynthesis) I would strongly advise NOT to try this....
 
This is supposedly why Shining Cloth dropped by about 5mil..
 
who said she got aggro? can't see anywhere that she actually got hit. All I see before it is:

"Oh fuck"

so she might have just chosen the wrong item to synthesize.

Was most likely her...and yeah, even if the monster misses, just them swinging at you makes it auto-fail.
 
well, we know her name. She erased everyone's name but her own. So why would she do that on "1 of [...]'s shadows absorb the damage and dissapears"?
 
When you get hit, the synth failure does not show in the log publically. It only shows up when you actually fail the synth...

This is interesting though... I wonder what exactly can be desynthed from that stuff o_O;; ... this is really really intriguing.

Any more info?
 
Too bad FFXItool won't give you synthesis recepies >.<
 
My guess is that the name of the shadow absorbed wasn't her own, but her actually getting hit was scrolled off the log..as seen on her HP bar, which isn't really full..
 
well, since she looks like a THF (her pants look like THF AF), which means she doesn't usually take damage. Which means the WHM could just have regened her. As long as she's not in yellow, most healers won't bother curing THF's :P

oh, btw. As seen in the post, my theory was right :P She took them by misstake ^^
 
Again, they did the synth without getting hit or losing it through those means, if they got hit, cured, or otherwise interrupted it would say on your screen "Synthesis cancelled, you lost the crystals and material." but wouldn't show anything on the public log.
 
It doesn't look like she got interrupted, maybe that she just out-and-out failed it. Did she say in the original thread anywhere that she got interrupted? Maybe she was desynthing stuff as the puller was coming back to camp~ I've seen that happen a few times. My guess is that the shadows were someone else's entirely.

Any clue what craft you would have to have leveled to what point for a success? Smithing or leathercraft maybe?

Meh, I just happen to be browsing through older posts while sitting at work. Anyone ponder about possibly using the kote to make something even more godlier? ;\ Sry to bump, but still haven't seen anything else about it lately :)

We can also come to the conclusion that slym must have some kind of craft skill leveled, I mean he is wearing strider boots from what I can tell :)
 
There is an easy way to test if thats real or not. Get someone who has both the kote and all level 0 crafts. Once you do, have them try to desynth it. The person shouldn't worry about whether it works or not since the craft level will be too low to actually try to craft the item unless the item is capped at very low level which I doubt very much. The person will get one of two messages: This is not a correct recipe (Then the pic is a fake) or the craft level is too low to synth (the pic is real).

If anyone knows someone who can try it, I would be very interested to see the results.
