Just an FYI for everyone, the downtime earlier can be contributed to a faulty hard disk which had to be replaced on the hosts end. Reeve was not able to work on the site until he got home and has been working on it since. Glad to see we're up and running now for the most part! Some users may issue some DNS errors while the service gets reset. We are also aware that we've done a time warp for a day or two.

Sorry for the downtime. Reeve's still working on getting things squared away but he'll be able to provide much more detail later.

D: a lot of posts are gone too. Oh well, no big deal. Glad it's back up. Was wondering what happened.

Meh, I just thought someone had been hosting the site on their PS3 :glare: Glad it's back now, though.

Off topic, happy belated Miros. I blame you for the PSN/trophies fiasco.

whose going to compensate me for the extra work i did today without a proper distraction?

Man, to distract myself I had to go to...

*sob*

Bluegartr! ;-;

This is obviously all your fault Miros... gawd! <3 :D

Hey folks, to make a long story short our host contacted me last night about some errors that were occurring our hard drive and advised that the disk would need to be replaced. They gave us a 7am - 7pm window and asked when we would like to have the work done. I figured I'd be at work so it didn't matter, we just needed it completed by the time I got back home.

This is where Murphy's law kicks in... good Murphy. The tech took me literally when I said "anytime". I guess he had some free time and decided to work on it right the and there so none of you had the chance to see the announcement nor did I have a chance to backup the database. Not a huge deal since we had the daily backups which is what we restored back to but unfortunately we did lose a day or so posts.

All in all, I am sorry for the issues. It deffinitely wasn't planned for but its good that we got the issue fixed and taken care of. If the drive failed completely, we would have been down far longer and lost way more than 2 days of posts.

I was thinking about ways of providing better notification and I created a twitter account (twitter/qcdn) ... well try to keep it in use for general things but we'd like to share any big server outages there too.

Thanks and good night :)

So, what's the twitt-
No wait, I think I can guess.

Also you should make a temporary board/thread for incoming Midgard transfers.

Oye.. this time warp blows u.u so many posts gone and old posts I've read showing up as new.

My whole thread is gone =(

Well so much for Canadian Pride on the boards... pfft

I'm a sad canuckanuck ; ;

I think this was all a set up! So you guys didn't have to see us all happy and gloating our golden glory!! I know it /squinty eyes

You might be missing a few visitors as qcdn.org still shows an error. :wacko:

P.S: Hi Shirai!

Discriminating us already, are you? :(
Copy + paste from what I posted on Miros' profile:
Well, more as a kind of organizational aide. Dynamis, Limbus, Einherjar, etc. is all going to go to hell for a month or two no matter what we do, but doing this might alleviate some confusion.

Then forget it. :|
