Favorite Tank Class?

ive played with some good nins too..... but get a good PLD and its just hard to pull hate.....
I remember partying with some paladins and challenging them to a hate contest... the only way i'd win is if i started early with BIG nukes....

With nins if i drop 2 big nukes in a row thats it.... theyll usually get hate back... but i'd get hit a few times first.

As a ranger... you'll have more respect for paladins later when your weapon skills start doing like 2k damage and paladins run in to cover you.

not saying nins are bad.... i love them too...... but as i said in my previous post, it depends on the job.
 
from what i have seen when partying with Jazper (pld) and Synical (rng)....... jaz gets in position right when or before synical does his skill and uses cover on him immediately.... i think thats a good plan.....

covering a blm is alot harder yes because PLDs have to run a distance for that.... but for rngs i'd think cover is quite nice^^
 
Odd, maybe..but I like pld.

Refresh seems like very useful/helpful mana spent when it's helping keep the whole party alive.

Pld makes me feel useful.

And they're dead sexy.

Shuddup...I'm still a girl....
 
As a WHM I concern myslef greatly with the tank. Here is my opinion after much partying.

If there are BLMs in the party I want a PLD if there are Rangers I want a ninja. They just work well together. And without a Paladin's Cover, Ancient magic can get Dicey.

I however do not want under any circumstances, nor will I even consider it anymore post 40, a War/Nin. They are counter productive to a good exp chain. Paladins Heal themselves and suffer minimal damagge, ninjas evade, both allow a WHM to go strong for many battles. A War/nin? I have to interupt a medding chain every 20 seconds cause the damn thing can not stay alive. Nor for some cam they seem to be able to get a little comething called hate and hold it. I was told not to use Cure 3s by my last War/Nin (In a 52 party in Kuftal Tunnel) because I was obciusly a n00b and did not know that he could not keep hate if I used it. I got hate 2 chainless battles later from Barwatera and had to zone because Iw as abrely alive (We where at Terrigan zone) I come back in use a cure 3 and die as does the rest of the party. I say fuck it and did not exp party for 2-3 months.

Blm: Pld
Mnk: Pld
Rng: Pld
Rdm: Nin (lazy refresher)
War: Dunno -.-;

Pld can hold hate better for some classes, I know nin who debuffs like madness can hold hate. Also I like Pld tank since I "Love" exping with bones. Sadly ninjas were taken out of these hunting grounds /cry.
 
war/ nin,mnk and pld/war cuz they take dmg not use cheap little wimpy ninjitsu on them to make them impossible to get hit 3 times in a row ... no offense nins and i <3 u guys too just i like war and pld better

Yes, lol. I remember i tanked as a 30WAR/7WHM. orz I was such a noob when I started....lol lord knows how I got to where I am today....
Oh and my favorite tank is a NIN, they need my THF-y goodness
