FFXI Version Update (6/21/10)

i am less the 1000 exp from a third merit. but i wanted to use it to get dark seal. :(
 
Well, maybe you and I can work on getting more than 2, Zalt? I just never had good luck with campaign..and the update's due to be done in a hour.
 
Well, one merit to go. Me and a friend went up Uleguerand Range and duoed bombs.

We'll finish in the morning; all the normal camps are PACKED full tight. My gut said that the off camps (like the old Agloolik camp) would be not occupied. I was right. That camp is a pain to get to so I doubt few except old fashioned crazy smns will touch that camp. ^^

I DID see a merit party on demons on the way up tho, that was a surprise. No one usually comes to Uleguerand Range unless you're doing CoP or are a old fashioned smn XD

Not really, I know the camp all too well as I spent my smn carreer there from levels 63 up to 75 + a lot of my merits on the job.
But the problem is that at 75 the Agloolik themselves are starting to go down from lower VT to Tough.

Going to 76 and higher we'll see a decline from Tough to DC which simply doesn't make soloing these worth it anymore.
 
True. But my friend was 70 and i was syncing to him, so that made it MORE than worth it.

If he was a little lower I would of invited more friends to come along, but at 70, I think duo at that camp is as good as it gets.

[Edit] Oh and two more trials for my cure teiwaz.

Brings it up to +17% Cure potency and gives it a unique name. I may have to do the summoner teiwaz's now. My BIG BIG objection to ones that gives smn perp down was I couldn't macro that @#$%! (You can now)Tho say goodbye to me having all my blm gear on main; I'm gonna have to mule it to make room. :/

The two new trials are; you have to turn in 15 more pixies, and according to alla; you have to kill 150 light eles during lightsday/light weather (Eff light weather. I'll do it in sky on lightsday) with it equipped. Shirai, I know how to duo light eles on smn if the other smn has Diablos, if you'd be interested. ^^

Are the BCNM capped area released as well? I thought I read that at the end of the update information all "battlefield" areas but that may pretain to CoP areas only

COP battlefield level restrictions have been removed, and Battlefields with a 75 level restriction have been lifted (to allow 75+).
 
something i noticed in the datamining thread that was kind of an inside joke all the bp- gear i found in which different slots which was cool and all but our max bp is still 46 secs? unless when you hit 80 it changes all of a sudden?

also glad they're focusing on mab gear for pets, merit bps are pretty powerful when you put a lot of it behind them
