Happy Holidays?

Sure you can just say a Merry Christmas because it's what you believe, and so be it - there obviously is no malicious intent in your saying it and people who act like there is have a problem. However, I don't think saying a blanket Happy Holidays is a step in the wrong direction, either. I think wishing someone happiness on whichever holiday they celebrate, in whatever it is they choose to believe in, whether it differs from what you do or not, shows some respectfulness and consideration. And frankly, what I find most wonderful about the holidays are the different traditions and celebrations and the beauty in all of them. It's the kindness that matters, not the package it comes in.

I just say "Happy Holidays" now because I'm too lazy to remember what holiday is when, there are far more holidays than I care to mark up on the calendar that I don't have on my wall ^^;

At work, I always say happy holidays because I live in Toronto, the most diverse city in the country. I work at The Bay and it's sort of an untold rule in the whole company to say Happy Holidys unless you know they are indeed a different faith. With Canada being a country of diversity in general (in my opinion) I just say happy holidays because it's so much easier.

If anyone's bugged over it, whether it's becaue I did or didn't say Merry Christmas... well I'm sorry, I didn't do it on purpose.

Oh and if we don't have Christmas gift cards, its because we didn't get them in, not because I'm all political correct... which I am.
