Help!

I am trying to make my own sig. I have the background sized and I have the second layer picture I want to put on it. It is sized and I can't figure out how to cut the character out of the picture to paste it onto my background. Could you help me? here is a pic of where i am can u tell me where i went wrong

Does anyone in here now how to make a sig? or you have people do it for you?

Usually I use the magic erase tool to get rid of backgrounds like that. Works fairly well. When it isn't very clear I use the regular erase tool with a brush that has soft round edges. It's takes a little more time but I think it looks nicer.

Aww, that's too bad, it was looking like it was going to be a really cool sig. ;_;
