Movie Horror remakes..

I saw house of 1000 corpses way back, and i thought it was a terrible movie =/. Guess im weird but i didnt like it lol.

House of 1000 Corpses is a bad movie. Or...more a movie that doesn't know what it wants to be...about a family of lunatics or something supernatural. The Devil's Rejects, on the other hand, is a favorite. It has a good 70s horror sensibility to it. Parts of Halloween were a bit difficult to take, but I'm biased in that I'm a huge fan of the original - and John Carpenter in general. Still going to see the sequel at the end of the month though.

I've never cared for Friday the 13th, though I did have to laugh when I went to see the remake the theater, which was full, let out a collective whimper when the comedic relief character said he was going to venture off on his own and everyone knew what that meant.

A remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street interests me less, but I will see it. I just don't like watching a classic get tinkered with. Robert Englund is Freddy and Freddy was quite good before they ruined him with quirky kills and stupid one-liners. At least the guy that played Rorschach in Watchmen has the right build for it. Freddy is a little guy like that.

Resurrected this one for a new trailer...

I am really excited for that. Freddy is by far my most favorite movie villain and I hope they do it justice.

Yeah, I don't think the trailer looks that bad...but you never really know until the finished product comes out. At least it looks like they're keeping with the spirit of the first couple films instead of the latter day Freddy where every kill had a punchline.

Yeah, 1 and 2 were real horror movies. He was someone you didn't fuck with. The latter stuff was great too but I just like the stuff that was written by Wes Craven more.

They won't do it justice. It will just be more torture porn.

It'll suck, and probably have a lot of shitty CG.

As much as I trash Michael Bay as a director -- and I sincerely believe he regularly commits crimes against cinema -- I don't mind him so much as a producer. Specifically, I've liked the horror remakes from Platinum Dunes company he co-founded.

I was dead set against any remake of Nightmare On Elm Street that didn't have Robert England, but the casting of Haley in the role made me think Okay, I'm going to at least give this one a chance.. The trailer fills me with hope.
