Just curious. I have been in this situation so many times it's rediculous.
Most of the time we wait, for about 2-3 hours and end up disbanding...

I dont know why but I hate it when im walking around jeunuo, and some PT leader says: <Party?
I say: <no thanks> Im bussy^^ thank you anyway^^

Leader: Whatever.
Me: ..... wtf?

To all the leaders of PTs: DO NOT GET MAD IF A RDM OR BARD DOES NOT WANT TO PT! HOnestly, if I dont want to PT I wont. You telling me im the only rdm availebel will only make me go anon.
 
Hmmmm...I'm guessing you disbanded because you couldn't get a support job.

The combination works if it's

PLD/WAR
RNG/NIN
RNG/NIN
SMN/WHM
BLM/WHM

and anything else here.

With all the /NIN jobs there's really no need for refresh (with food mind you) and I've had great parties like this. Mmmmmmmm!

And you need a LOT of food if you plan to XP for a long time.
 
I didn't say it was perfect, that setup is perfect WITH a bard or RDMt. But it does work. With all the shadows flying around you don't end up curing much. With good MP regen food on the BLM and SMN MP really isn't an issue and you do so much damage I don't find myself healing much due to a mobs short lifespan. You have to pick the right mobs to do it so dispel really isn't an issue....but I don't know - I've seen it work.

Sometimes I'll even toss out an Aerial Armor so if me or the BLM get hit no damage again (which doesn't happen very often).

Sometimes there aren't any RDMs or BRDs looking for a party and you need to settle with a non-perfect situation. Situations like this aren't ideal but they do work with the right food.

YES!

Are there always RDMs and BRDs available?!

NO!

Palum for example will always use Juice on his PLD, it seems we can get by with PLD tanks pre-41, there's no reason in a non-perfect situation you can't make it by post-41.
 
For the longest time I was getting 4 melee WHM and SMN PTs....and they were crap...there's no way to fight crabs without disepell....I gotta say that I much prefer the 3 melee 3 mage =P
 
When the world gives you lemons make lemonade. Last night there were long stretches of time in which we were missing a debuffer or dedicated healer and nobody was looking to fill the role. So we just fought with 5 players and we chose to fight lower level mobs so we would at times get exp chains of 4-5 at an experience gain of 80-120 a kill which adds up. Now during downtime we were actively looking for someone to fill in that last spot but at least we were making some progress instead of just waiting. Sitting around waiting drives me batty.

And....? I think you need lots of food in the first place if you plan to be levelling. I guess it is kind of bad to have let's say... 40 juices to replace that one rdm. However, sometimes rdms just aren't around... bards are even rarer... I end up playing late at night and everyone's generally asleep.. :( I just learn to adapt.

A paladin without refresh? yeah, that's going to be hard on the party and the paladin themselves. That's why I fully endorse cooking....hehe..everyone should be a cook. You actually break even if you skill up cook to 30. At most, since I powerlevelled a lot of it, I think it cost me 30k and a week. People should always be eating!! (it's not healthy if you don't... :D )

I feel like a dick n most cases, because the Parties that look great on paper always end up a failure, and the parties I am heasetant to join, and think would be slow exp are the best.... I have actually been playong with a couple of good paladins lately... And if you know me, that's really hard for me to say...

But I am getting tired of Whms' attitudes... I am tired of explaining why a thief would benefit from Hatse... And explaining that all Mele should get haste especially if we are getting Chain 5 and they got 75% of thier MP...

But that's a different topic all together..
 
I have no idea what you are trying to say... That kinda sounds like a cannon party set up... Cannon Parties are beutiful things.
 
I've gone seeking as RDM for longer than 4 hours <_<; wtf
