how much gil to start goldsmithing?

How much gil do u need to get goldsmithing to around the stage where you can make silver ingots easily. (assuming you buy all the ingredients and crystals)
 
It cost me a little under 200k to get to Lv20... but that was a few months ago now, price have gone up a little bit since then.

Gold prices have doubled!

I spent about -20k gil getting to 20. The key is to use mining ores to your advantage.
 
i made 50Kish lvling to 20
 
I made gil mining all the way up through brass sheets. And then I skilled up of silver ingots so I have to say... I made 100k+ getting to 20.
 
ok where did i go wrong, 180k for me to start an i used allakhazam.com to guide me.

i spent roughly 250k getting to 40 but i pl the entire way thier so i had lots of loss and breaks
 
never did keep track...

63.9 goldsmithing now.....
i know i had a few bad bouts where i LOST 400k or so without getting any skillups..... i wonder how much i really spent and how much i made back.

guess i'll never know^^
 
hehe... Goldsmithing will be the most expensive to get up.. be warned... my friend has used about 20mil to level up to 60ish... and it only gets worse after that... ><
