Its that time of year, Lets talk ghosts!

damn i read michigan and got excited since im right on the Michigan border, but thats a 10 hour drive from here haha! My drive to philly was only 8 and that was harsh!
though i would like to check this location out someday, the idea of phantom lights have always intrigued me.
And because they are common in so many places, and usually frequent in those areas, i personally believe they are some sort of natural phenomenon that we cannot yet explain, sort of like Ball lightning.
We have one in ohio, in a ghost town called Moonville. That archway also looks like an archway remnant of an old bulding we have in downtown toledo. Cool stuff orion!

and Layeena, thats up to you if you feel that you dont want to see them, you can always do what i did and beg some higher power to take the gift away, though...i regret it now.
I had an unexplained gift that didnt start happening till i was in 6th grade and moved into a new house just a few houses from where i live now.
I called them "Dizzy spells" but it really wasnt getting dizzy,it was hard to explain.

I moved in and things started happening, i would wake up nightly to someone calling my name, id call out "What!?" and would get no answer, only to find out everyone was in bed asleep. I found myself walking the same path nightly at the same times, and when i reached certain points in the house, i would get this strange feeling of a presence over me.
Id get kind of light headed and a surge of warmness shot through my body from my head to toes, and id feel strange, id start smelling strange scents in the air that i just couldnt place what they were. It was always at the same times, always around the same spots of the house.
Id hear things like a music box, that when i got closer would stop, i heard something scratching from the inside of our living room closet only to find nothing inside.
Id feel someone sit on the edge of my bed nightly, it wasnt for months that i actually realized this was happening, i always assumed it was my cat till one night i felt it and saw my cat wasnt there and watched the bed rise up as if someone stood back up.
Id have the same dream every night.
I was a little girl in overhauls riding a bike with a basket and streamers, in the basket were groceries, and i rode my bike to the house i was in.
id walk in the house and see an old woman laying on the floor in the living room dying, and id wake up.

When i got to 9th grade, my french teacher told me to ask her why she went to my house as a kid, so i did. She said her grandparents lived there and built our upstairs room.
So i asked if her grandmother died in the house, she paused for a moment and said "yes, why?"
i asked "did you happen to see it? when you were delievering groceries?" and she began crying while asking how i knew that.
I told her about the dream, and she said it was exactly how it happened.
I never had the dream again.

But i would still be awoken every night by the name calling, the sitting on my bed, the path and "dizzy spells". I thought i was sick, i thought thats what the spells were, but they felt like more, like people trying to deliever messages to me. When finally i couldnt take it anymore and i begged and pleaded that i didnt want whatever it was.

Slowly the spells became less and less, once a month, once every couple months, then...gone.
When i moved out and into my own house a block away, years later, i had one final spell while sitting alone in my game room.
It came over me very heavily and i paused what i was doing and just sat there, it lasted longer than any other one, and my nose flared up and a scent took over, the same scent from before.
Except this time, i knew what it was. It was the smell of swimming pool water and chlorine in summer air.
A smell i remember very well from my childhood at my grandparents house, a smell that let me know it was my grandfather.
The moment i knew what it was, the spell was over. I never had a single spell ever again, and now...i regret ever saying i didnt want whatever gift that was.

though within the past two years, my father began experiencing things in that house, he sees shadow people darting through his room, he has been woken up to shadowy blobs descending from the ceiling above him and my mom wakes up because he starts swinging at them.
My mom has seen reflections of the shadow of a person who looks like my brother walk into the room when shes looking out the windows, she said its a solid figure because it blocked out the tv in the background.
The water faucets turn themselves on (that happened when i lived there but we could only hear it, never see it). Theyve heard loud bangs at their front door, which is impossible since its screened in and the porch is locked, no one is ever there.
ive been told "someone wants you back in this house" lol.

Strangest thing to ever happen in that house though, My mom was picking my siblings up from school and came home to find the living room wall on fire, she did everything she could to put it out and she did get it out, the fire was unexplained. It ruined the carpeting but more so, was the strange pattern the black burns left in the wall. Two distinct images, one that looked like the perfect outline of an angel, like someone placed a stencil on the wall and burned around it, and just above it was the perfect face of the image we recognize as jesus, full facial features.
It was because of that, the insurance company almost refused to pay up because the designs looked intentional.

its what i really love about this town. a small town like this, they are very concerned about keeping everything original on the outside. so, it isnt uncommon to see old bldgs. hell, almost everything around here is original from the end of the 1800s to the start of the 1900s. even the house im living in right now. very old mining house. this house is right down the road from one of the two or three mansions that were constructed up here from one of the mine owners. it was later used as a funeral home. is also said to be haunted.

cobblestone roads. heck, we have the oldest concrete road, that is still in tact, here in this town. a fav pasttime for alot of people is looking for copper. its quite the lucrative business. that and tourism of the old mines. perhaps i shall go to some of these places and take some pictures in daytime and at night. see if there are anything that shows up at all.
unlike you, i dont have any crazy equipment, but it wouldnt hurt to try.

dont really need crazy equipment, if i only needed to have the bare minimum requirements, id have a digital audio recorder and a camera. Flashlight usually too. But thats really all you need, everything else is optional!
Its cool your town is so into keeping it preserved!

Yo chasym have you ever dealt with possessions or anything like that? I'm not a huge believer in anything, just because I've never experienced anything myself. Just curious if you believe in exorcism or anything like that. I was checkin out paranormal activity on wiki and did the whole wiki loop shit and ended up reading some stuff on Anneliese Michel. They also have the recording of her 90 min exorcism which I didnt listen to much of, but she is freakin out some in the beginning. Just curious if you've ever dealt with anything like this or what your take on it is. Heres the recording:

i have never personally dealt with anything along the lines of possession or demons. And thats because its my personal preference not to, if i come into contact with a client in that kind of situation, i will help them get the help they need but i will not be a part of it.

That is because from talking to demonologists they say once you open the door to battle a demon you cannot turn back and they will follow and try to break you down.

I know of that exorcism you mentioned, we have talked about it before. Its pretty well known.
I personally dont know on that subject though, while i think it could be possible, its extremely rare. On the show paranormal state they see a demon everywhere they go, in this field thats a joke because demonic hauntings are the rarest of the rare. and possession is even more rare than that.
Its an interesting subject, and for safety reasons just in case my team were to ever come in contact with such an entity, i do include an explanation of a demonic haunting and what to look for in our field guide.

It is a very interesting subject though.

I have seen an exorcism through footage of an old mission trip, when I was young. One of my fellow churchgoers had just returned from a trip to Haiti. They videotaped an exorcism of a 10-year-old boy, and let me tell you; that shit is scary beyond words.
