Yeah, Akira Toriyama is doing a new 35-minute anime short based on DBZ at the Super Jump Anime Fest coming up soon.

It's going to be based off of Vegeta's younger brother, who was thought to have died when planet Vegeta was destroyed. Taking place 2 years after the Majin Buu saga.

Akira Toriyama is behind it. So it should be fine and enjoyable. Probably has something to promote the DB movie or the DBZ MMO though.
 
lolz.. Younger brother? Wow.. and magically the nonexistant character will.. poof, be real. Why does he have to look like one of Goku's kids though. >_>; Damn Sayians.
 
He does look like a mixture of Gohan and Vegeta.

GT is non-canon in Toriyama's mind. It's all gooood.

The short has aired and holy shit, THEY REMADE THE OP SEQUENCE!



This was a genuinely fun anime short. It's nice to see the cast back together again =)
 
Just finished watching and it's quite good. My only gripe is that tarble didnt freak out when even the kids could turn supersaiyan.

Haha, I told Ishaela I had the exact same problem when I was talking to her last night about it.

Also, since Dragon Ball characters names are food puns, what the fuck is Tarble supposed to be?
 
I really dug this short. The design work felt a lot closer to the manga than the original series (mostly, I feel, due to the hatched and painted-looking backgrounds).

It was predictable, but hey, what ground hasn't been covered in the series/movies. (;

All-in-all, a very nostalgic, fun watch.
 
maybe its just me but the OP posted looks exactly the same as it always did?

Not exactly a food pun this time. His name is a pun of the word "Table" I think.

Nah, it's a lot more cleanly animated. It's like comparing a Disney animated movie now, to a Disney animated movie 20 years ago. You know, if Disney actually did stuff and weren't all over Pixars nuts, just CGing everything.

Table is a more literal english translation of his name actually.

That was amusing and enjoyable to watch. Not enough Vegeta action though, but they did everything very well I suppose.
