Old movie help

Was it that movie (that I too am forgetting the name of) were a group of friends (3 or 4 i think) built a space ship out of a twirl-and-whirl car and garbage cans that's main mode of propulsion was some force field that was programmed on an Apple IIe?

Are you sure it was a movie, and not a commercial or something?

I did that once, spent about six months trying to find this movie I could only remember one little scene from, and nothing else about the plot. Then I found it on a tape my gramma had made when we were little of something off tv, and it was just a commercial. I laughed,

No luck. I obsessed about it last night a lot and looked for about 4 hours to no avail.

this is the only pic i could find anywhere of the character in question.

his name is slimo, and in the movie the fairy inhabitants of the land of small would be swallowed up by him and spit back out as winged mystical fairies :\

of all things, searching "Obscure Fantasy Films".

it was the first thing that showed up, and the name looked vaguely familiar.
