Peace out, burn them bridges.

Just to extrapolate on this a little, just doing a little fuzzy math with rounded off numbers...

First of all, you take out the 2 years of FFXI fees, which is 24*15 = $360, which brings the total down to $3600.

Now remembering this was made in the span of 2 years, or 104 weeks, you get $3600/104 = $34.62 a week.

Now I suppose you could argue that making ~$35 a week from playing a game is cool. Can't really say it is or isn't. But working a part-time job once a week at minimum wage is pretty much the same amount of money. So as a supplemental income, it's really not all that much when you think about it, especially considering that the people who bought the gil probably made 10x that reselling it.

I think Zoolander meant that he expected Sano to have made a lot more than that because of how much gil he had.

Anyways, see ya later dude. Enjoy RL

Man, this is like the "Chasym Effect." Where something goes to this effect: Botters and gilsellers fucking suck... unless someone I like does it. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm pretty embarassed that I shared a shell with RMT.

Same, especially considering he ditched us after getting an oracle's robe. Oops, I crapped on a Good Times thread now.

Now I have never played with Sanoske, but judging from the comments on this thread he put in his time.

I know I pay A: for my INTERNET connection $60/month B: $60/year for my Gold membership to get xbox live and C: $15/month to play FF XI

over a course of 6 years SE and other companies have made a lot of money off Sanoske for him to play. Which he did right? It took him that long to acquire all he did and it's time to move on.

So his options are to give away his money to friends ingame, throw it all away (which is insanity) or made some of the money back he invested bc lets face it, he's not getting his time back.

Now the damage that I see happening is these ppl that bought the gil will ultimately have to spend less time, so SE won't make the money they made of Sanoske, and the IP company won't make the money they made of Sanoske.

OR he gives it away to friends and THEY don't have to spend the time making it resulting in the same loses to SE and IP companies.

IDK..

I say spend it on wondrous stuffs!! Enjoy the money, you invested time and money to play a game, you enjoyed it, you made friends(some you may maintain contact with), all the luck to you!!

So blame the gilbuyers and not the sellers? If there's no gil to sell there's no gil to buy. In this case, funds were being supplied to the sellers.

Way to justify gilselling. Its as cool as making a post in good times bragging about violating the terms of service.

ditto. its not ok if someone you know does it.

It would be naive to think that it doesnt make a difference. 160,000,000 is a lot, and its clear that the RMT companies are indeed hurting badly because of all the sellers and what not banned. The only way I imagine they make much of anything at all is by buying gil from normal players. Gil sellers these days are incredibly bad and do not last long. Gil sellers are essentially a non-issue nowadays, which is a far cry from where we were a couple years ago. Yet the RMT companies are still around because people still sell to them.

I don't really have the hatred for people that sell gil, but it would be ridiculous to belittled the effect it has.

Eh, All things considered I'm going to just lock this and pretend it never happened. Typically there would be deleted posts and infractions but i can it is more restrained than it should have been, and at that, somewhere else on QCDN.

Later Sanoske.
