Why was this said by an admin, which resulted in a ban, especially when this particular admin is the only one that already knew it was him?

I think this was a very good example of what happens when there is little communication between the mods. We will be doing what we can to rectify this mistake and be sure it doesn't happen in the future.

What like I don't know Ele couldn't have posted it on the Mod forums? Only way to rectify the situation is to get Ele to actually tell you things or just have Ele step down since we all know he's only going to mention the things he feels are to his liking. I mean that's obvious just by Miros's post.

"We" all saw the PM. It was posted to the mod forum.

However, it was a PM that was signed "- Pere" from user Cecilee.

We presumed it was Pere on a new account, since it had 0 public posts at the time and was created ~1 month after Pere's banning. Future posts from the user would indicate otherwise, but the similarities were uncanny.

Eleib saying "we already know it's him" is a minor case of misinterpretation. We already knew the account was used by Pere. We could never prove it was him. However we could collect enough proof (IPs) to ban like the bloodthirsty robots we are.

Not sure how often peregrine used the account, however I can attest that cecilee was a real person, who did use the account. Weather or not peregrine used it often or made public posts often with it (or if cecilee made any personal posts at all), is another issue I don't know about, but it wasn't a 100% sock puppet in the style most are made.
