Shouldn't it be the responsibility of anyone joining an event to inform the leader that they're new and need to know of any important information concerning the event? Everyone is blaming the leader for rushing which is partially true but it still doesn't excuse the noob for not even bothering to learn wtf to do.

Not really, you're the leader and the one responsible for leading the run. If some of the party is pickups, the first words typed when the party is formed should be.

"Is their anyone here who hasn't done Nyzul before?", or if you have a static and pick up one person to fill in for a missing member that day, "<insert name> have you done Nyzul before?"

If you don't know someone and they're ultimately going to be responsible for your success or failure, you really need to find out what they do and don't know, and make sure that they know everything they need.
