Rank 3 BCNM battle......

After seeing a crazy video of a Galka MNK/WAR soloing rank 3 and actually winning the dang thing, it inspired me to try and do the same.......unfortunately without the same results. XD

My first attempt as a MNK/WAR, actually did pretty good. Killed the eye quickly, used 100 fists right before it died. Had trouble keeping HP up so I was interrupting my attacks with hi-potions too much. -_- Had the dragon almost half dead when it used the dreaded Curse move.....took me down to 100 max HP and died shortly after lol.

Second attempt as a.....SMN/WHM :shock: BAD idea, dunno what I was thinking. :x Summoned Carby, had it attack the dragon. Eye puts me to sleep, dragon pulls me in. I stand there dozing off while Carby gets pummeled. I wake up when carby has 1/4 life left. Managed to fire off astral flow/searing light once before Carby ate it. Tried using a hi-ether to regain MP, no go. Got pulled back in again, hi-ether fails to activate, tried using a couple hi-potions to stay alive, just couldn't keep up, ate it and deleveled.

I solo the dragon all the time when I help someone with 2-3, so I've got a bit of experience at it, and I'll tell ya... Ignore the eye, head straight at the dragon (Unless you've got the gil for Icarus Wing, in which case use it to take out the eye). Get the best defensive gear for your level, Scentless Armlets (Evasion+5 for cheap), and Lynx Bagh(tab). Pop an Au Lait and all JAs (Yes, including Berserk) before engaging, and you should be good to go.

Yeah I used an icarus wing, an au lait and a meat chiefkabob so I took out the eye in about 15 seconds or so. Main problem I had was I was near red HP when I started fighting the dragon so I was popping hi-pots like mad just to stay in the orange range. XD Then I had Chaos Blade (think thats the AoE curse attack) used on me and it was all over -_- Did you bother bringing holy water in case of being cursed?

If I don't get any help I'll try soloing it your way, fighting the dragon first. Will shoulder tackle help in canceling any of its atacks at all? Meant to try it my first solo fight but the adreanaline rush turned my brain off LOL XD
