And hell if you wanna be an "asshat" and post in the flameboard section learn how to pull. I 61 levels as thf i pull maybe 1 link per level and if it is a bad one i have the respect for my party to die and get tractored to camp rather than kill the entire party.
Both pulls were bad pops. It wasn't a matter of "learning how to pull" because from everything I could discern when I pulled out my crossbow, it was a safe pull.
He may have over-reacted ill give you that but you are the reason the party ended.
Oh, what makes you think the party ended? I got booted, they didn't disband. They kept going.
Hell y dont you start up a brd and see just how much fun it is when you know that you will be the first one down if the link is uncontrollable. In the future if the sleeper tells you to zone i suggest that you do it cause altho you can live why chance the death especially in an area that is sooo easy to reset.
Sleeper? Let's talk about some aspects of the situation.
The bard was, first off, subbing NINJA. So he could easily put shadows up in between Lullaby attempts while someone else pulls hate off him.
Second, we had TWO Sleepers in the party - there was a Black Mage, too. Granted, Black Mages are somewhat on the squishy side... but still, that's a second attempt at Sleep.
Third, we had a fugging PL. If that Bard doofus had had any real sense, he could've just had ELFEN Elemental Seal + Sleep II the link. The real Elf would've probably done it pretty darn quick.
Fourth, we had a fugging PL. There was little to no danger of that Bard dying, because HE was the one CONTROLLING that PL. On a failed Lullaby, he could have easily just had Elf toss him a Cure3 and steal hate. And then put shadows up. And then try Lullaby again.
Fifth, on the error where he decided to run, that was the SECOND time we'd had Siege Bats link, and the first time, the fight went without a single hitch.
Sixth, we even had a SUMMONER who could have used his expendable Avatars to keep the link busy. Any half decent Summoner knows how to Carby-Pong a mob.
Seventh, half the party had Shadows.
Eighth, there were three people sitting on the steps just below us, literally not doing anything at all. Call For Help is how I handled the situation, and not one person died, even though all of the support members of the party had already run away.
And Ninth, I'm sorry, but unlike most of FFXI's population, I have chosen NOT to worship Bards like they are the Salvation of the People of Vana'diel. That is not to say that I dislike bards - far from it, it's a wonderful addition to most parties - but that does not exempt the player from, you know, having a brain.
And finally, if he tells me to zone and I don't, that's my fucking problem, and not his. If I choose to stay in the zone and fight, and try to contribute to those bats' death, why should he BOOT me from his party? I'm sorry, we've already incurred mass down time, if I died because I didn't zone, then gosh darn it, isn't that just like if I'd died to keep the pull from wrecking the party in the first place? He zoned, he had no chance of dying. Why the fuck should he have taken it out on me in the first place?
