Sky RMT Ripped Off by a Taru With No Panties

And you're proving my point, people hate the gilfarmers because they hack and remove any fair competition from anything they go after. If they didn't hack and camped/killed just like a normal LS, no one would even care about them because they would be just like everyone else. You don't care what legit LS X, Y, or Z does with their drops and if the RMT didn't bot, they'd be the same.
The fact that they provide any competition whatsoever is unfair. There was a long stretch of time when RMT didn't hack. They were still just as detested. RMT can never be the same as legit LSes because they shouldn't exist. Even most cheaters have a more legitimate aspect to their existence, since many didn't join with the intent of cheating from the start (If they did, well, that's another story and not really important.)
Gilfarmers exist from day 1 to do nothing more than break the terms of service. That is their entire purpose.

If anything, this:

Weather he likes it or not, he still participated in RMT. He paid 500k for the pants. Granted, the RMT wanted 7M for it, but he more or less forcfully haggeled the price down to 500k by STEALING. The RMT didn't get all the money they wanted, but money is money to them. They can get another byakko pop in a matter of hours by botting. You really didn't set them back all that much.
is a more debatable point in my mind than stealing anything from RMT, and is possibly the only downside to this entire thing. It all comes down to the amount of time and effort the RMT wasted, and whether or not that slowed them down. Only they can say, but I certainly hope it was.

Aww, thanks.

If it slowed them down, they wouldn't still be shouting for people to buy haidates. They probably just made a note of what happened, informed the people who control the characters to be more careful so it doesn't happen again, and moved on with their life. If anything, at least that one particular group will be more cautious from now on, and they still made positive gil so it was a small price to pay for them. So yeah, nothing really to celebrate about here except I guess grats to the OP for getting a good deal.

No, they weren't. No one liked them, but very very few people liked any linkshells counter camping them, RMT was not much different. Once they started using hacks(which wasn't that long, really), they completely changed the playing field for camping NM's. Now no one bothered camping against the RMT, because you had a small chance to claim. Before hacks they were annoying, but manageable(like all competition, really); once they started hacking they actually became seriously hated.

I get it, you don't like RMT, no one does; but you might want to actually have a reason why it's not stealing besides your hatred of the group. He didn't camp the NM's, he didn't put any effort into getting them at all, he just scammed someone you hate and that makes it all better. He took something that didn't belong to him as he had no intention of paying, he joined with the intent to steal the haidate, not to screw the RMT out of getting one. Is it good that it possibly slowed down the RMT, sure; but it's not good that he kept it.

You can be glad the RMT got screwed all you want, but stop acting like he did a great thing. He stole.

Good job. I'l say not the most honest way to get them. But not like RMT are here to enjoy the game, and taking them dosn't hurt them. (physicaly).

It may not work a second time, but what you CAN do is to go up, and offer to pay full price before getting invited to party. But instead of doing that, just warp away. Thay get no gil, thay get a haidates thay don't need.

Whats wrong from taking from a RMT? thay are like the scum of the game. Nobody wants them around, and all thay do is break the rulz of the game.

It's not particularly hatred for them, it's that I'm completely unwilling to consider them players. If that were in fact the case, what you're saying would be completely true. Stealing from players is unacceptable. Stealing from things that are not players, however, is acceptable.

While cheaters may no longer have a right to play FFXI, RMT never did from the moment they were created. Not everything with a white name is actually a player.

So wait, we cheer on people who take things through shady means from people who we hate for being shady/illegitimate players? That makes sense. But maybe I'm one of a minority who think the word "earn" means something else entirely.

I'm all for ganking the RMT when you can. But you don't have to stoop to their level to do it.

I think Zyn and I are paddling a similar boat of morals. /bow

Eh yeah that's a great idea for screwing them over without benefit.

However, they do get gil; mostly from behemoth hides/divine logs.

I don't want to turn this into the flameboard so I will just say lolirony.

OK Its time for me to respond..

I see that the lines have been drawn and people have taken their sides sticking to what they believe to be moral.

First to the people who look down on me for what I did. I will agree with you that what I did was clearly an act of thievery. There is no other way to look at it. However, I have had a bone to pick with RMT for quite a while as I and my friends have been screwed left and right. So in my opinion this was a case of the ends justifying the means. If your righteous attitude is preventing you from sympathizing with my case than fine there is nothing I can do. I work differently, I choose an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth over just sitting back and saying "Eh, SE will punish them eventually." So I am sorry if you disagree with my choice. RMT are scum and do nothing but ruin the game for everyone. If I can find a way to profit off them, i.e. making a gain for myself while making them lose out, I will definitely take it. Which is exactly what I did.

As a side note to the people who are just jealous/angry that I didnt put in my time in sky to get them. First of all I have been working my ass off in sky for quite a while, so this should not even be a debate. When RMT holds kirin from your LS for 5 hours, steals mobs, bot, hover over you like vultures waiting for you to die, it kind of takes the fun away from sky and it tends to make you quite frustrated and angry. If you chose to spend 100 hours in sky to get one drop thats your deal. Maybe you plan on playing this game forever. Maybe you dont work and are still in school. Maybe this game is your life. I on the otherhand have alot of things to do outside this game and my time is very valuable and I will make this game enjoyable now because honestly, no I will not be playing this game forever. Which is why when RMT takes away the time I do have to get drops and enjoy the game I become quite angered.

Next...on to the people who agree with what I did. Thank you. Im glad that there are people who understand and appreciate what I did. It doesnt stop with me though. So many people have been doing the same thing as I have done and telling me their success stories. Make this game enjoyable for yourself and don't let Chinese gil sellers ruin a good time.

I got a class to teach now so I will leave it at this for now. Peace.

Yes, because getting screwed by the gil sellers is so rare, I'm sorry I didn't consider your completely unique circumstances.

"I have a life unlike the rest of the people who earned their gear," is not really a good way to portray yourself. Everyone has a life, no one is on all the time; you're not special for not spending every second of every day logged on. Again, you're just like everyone else; sob stories don't work when everyone has the same story.

Next...on to the people who agree with what I did. Thank you. Im glad that there are people who understand and appreciate what I did. It doesnt stop with me though. They're happy because a group that is unanimously hated got screwed, not because you got something you "deserved"; no matter how much your "life" interferes with actually playing. You could say a meteor hit the sweatshop in China and people would be cheering.

Dont mind these negative people.

Its great what you did, nice job.

Since my response doesn't really belong in a "Good Times" thread (though in my mind this thread doesn't really belong here), I'm responding on the Flameboard.

oh crap, does that mean my ps3 will still get here?

dont fxck with japan. japan kick ur NA Too Weak ass

china's a different story....

This is pretty funny :P

I kinda agree with both Baja and Garvin. In terms of, Baja's right, it was a shady way to get the Byakko Haidate. But Garvin is right in that they aren't really players, they are people trying to make money off of Square-Enix' product. I'm kinda conflicted :P In the topic of OH, OH (most not all) hacked, true, but they weren't trying to profit off the game for their lives, they were just trying to play. But, then you can argue that they were profiting because they were screwing other players who paid and.. bah :\ I hate being conflicted.

Though, to counter Baja (for fun), would you say Robin Hood is an immoral guy? He stole :P and regardless of who it was he stole from (hated or not) he still did something considered immoral, yet most these days would say Robin Hood's a hero and whatnot. Would you agree?

To counter Garvin, what about the RMT that do play the game for fun but do need to live so they try and make money off this (and perhaps something else)? They are people too, even if they are doing something wrong, they are trying to live. (I have a feeling this was mentioned but I got bored with reading after 3/4 down the 3rd page XD at least 3rd page for my settings of how many posts per page).

Anyways.. in reality, I doubt it did anything to bother them (RMT) and I doubt they are honestly going to care greatly. Someone has a nice piece of gear, they had a good times.. good for them :P congrats, enjoy, whatever you do with it, your choice (I'm kinda tired so I have a feeling this post is gonna seem awkward).
