Was up for a big challenge so I thought I'd go out and solo my opo-opo crown. I've heard of several people doing this. Not really something that's impossible, but an achievement none-the-less.
Bought all the non-rare/ex items. Didn't feel the urge to go get those.
Headed into Temple of Ugalappe and started destroying tonberries with courier carrie. Had a blast tearing up room after room of them and then suddenly I was planted face down with a big red zero next to my name. Which left me stunned with a "wtf?
" moment until I read in my log that I had been hit with everyone's grudge for 1250 damage. hehe. without reraise. Wasn't even thinking about reraise as a 75 bst, and totally forgot about everyone's grudge. BST cockiness comes into play from time to tome. 
Headed to Ifrit's Cauldron with whm friend Talindra. I still say I solo'd the wyvern skull since it was the lizards that did 99% of the work (and they're MINE!) But she did get in quite a few hits and an occasional hexa strike. 
Got two skulls in about 30 minutes.
Then ran to Quicksand caves and tried to get a group of three blm tarutarus to help me open the door. I'm not sure if one of them was being an asshole or just being funny but he started spamming "wait loooooooooooooooooooool" and "doraemon <you can have this>" and other nonsense. Probably just some japanese dick. Ended up following his group through the wrong damn door and having to wait another hour for another group to help me get through the correct door. Killed 6 worms and got the drop. I hear that ancient salt has a horrible drop rate, so I'm really pleased with that.
Ended up getting my Lucky Egg the day before just goofing off with a korrigan vs crawlers in Boyadha Tree after 2 hours of solo exp.
Anyway, I really wanted to try this just as a test of myself as a bst and as an ffxi player. And the only death I had was at the hands of the hillarious everyone's grudge. Had a great time. I guess the only ones I'd like to thank are Talindra for coming and being there in case I got raped by a Wyvern and the entire BST community for continuously posting stories of doing the unlikely.
As a final note (sorry, long post) I will say that I was a little bit let down by the wyvern's. I really expected them to give me more of a run for my money after hearing horror stories of people being stuck trying to find help for this part for weeks. But this quest was a breeze. If you're a bst and you'd like to get an opo-opo, just get it yourself. lol.
Sorry.. Long post. It's taken over an hour and a half to try to log back into ffxi since the emergency server maintanence and I don't have anything better to do right now.
