I thought people might like to know that I finally found the stinking problem that I mentioned a while ago.
Me and a friend were talking about it after I started erm, getting some wierd graphical errors as well in FFXI, like floating heads. When I described my crashes and showed him the WhoCrashed log, he said:
"I know exactly what is wrong!" and, to make a long story short, helped me out to get the parts to fix it for a early Christmas present. Turned out Computer Renaissance had sold me a card with a bad fan. (A new card fixed the whole ATI driver crash mess.) And #2 problem that was causing crashes was..Dum, de dum dum..one of my memory chips was also going bad. I've repped that and have been crash free for about 3 weeks now.
After having cussworthy problems for almost a year now (that card had given me no bleeping end of trouble) it's good to NOT have crashes.
