I ask now in all seriousness a question that's been brewing in my mind (slowly as anything involving me and thinking goes) for a long long time.

Why do people ask for help or start things they don't have time to finish? like serious. it pisses me off as a helpful person.

Someone shouts for help with a beadeux coffer then just afk's and goes to bed mid way through leaving me to solo mobs for his key. wtf? (i got him his key but i was pissed as hell over that)

I'm in the coffer mob area farming for Water IV Scroll. A thf asks me if i can come help him get his "{Thief } {Knife}" he's a NA thf level 43 and i enjoy helping noobs so sure, i escape from where i am re zone and find him.

I proceed to procure A) the Augery shell NM so he can get rank 5,

B) 2 silver quadavs he can steal from at his leisure. first steal attempt fails. 2nd attempt fails... i was just like whatever, i'm doing something cool for someone else passing on all the help i got from some awesome people who were in the position to help when i was a nub.

Then the kid goes brb (aparently no longer standing for be RIGHT back)... 5 minutes nothing... 10 minutes nothing... in 15 he comes back long enough to hit alt-tab. so i'm standing at the entrance 8 minutes walk and endless annoyance from where i was farming... at 4 AM... with 2 silver quadavs trying in vain to hit me... and i think to myself what the fuck.

Have things changed that much since i was a low level? i mean jeez, I KNOW i woulda had the common decency to TELL them nice person I blindly asked to help me I might have to go in 15 minutes or something decent like that....

if you don't have time to finish stuff don't start! log off! take the extra time to do some sit ups and work off that flabby gut! socialize with friends in the game... you got that flist full of friends, some you hardly talk to lately... there's a lot more you can do than piss off nice people tryna help you ~~;

When ff first started and it wasn't so "popular" only people who were pretty hardcore fanatics played it.

As it gets "popular" many others hear about it and start to play.

Unfortunately these people aren't always the best people to play an online RPG with.

Does this mean they are all bad? No. But it does mean you'll have many more encounters with such people.
 
I know what you mean. I was once helping someone with G1. Well I had 2 other people helping kill the lichs for the paper for him. Well he opted to read a book while we did this for him. Thing is because he was reading the book, even though he was there...it was like he wasn't. We still got it for him, and hes my friend. But still it annoyed me...and as one of the guys said to me in /tell during that "Dude your friend is pissing me off. If here here helping him he should be here too."

Doesn't happen much to me though. I mean some people say brb of afk, but normally were running and Im just like "K just /follow" but their notmally back pretty soon too, not like 15 minutes.

I did have this issue throughout a day once...but it was cause my parents kept randomly telling me I had to do stuff...

Sometimes it cant be helped, I understand that too...but if its one of those situations you should explain...if yor going afk for 15 minutes and your supposed to be stealing soup...then you better give a reason or people are gonna get pissed like in this case XD

You don't ask for help for your Marauder's knife. You pull one from the top tier, try to steal, and run like the dickens to the zone shouting i'm sorry i'm sorry train to zone u all gon die.

lol, dont gotta pull, just go into one of the little rooms behind the doors at the zone, its easy.
