Anybody dabble in sports betting? I got 100 bucks free from an online gaming site as a promo deal. The stipulations on withdrawing the money were pretty rough, but that's to be expected with a promo offer. Basically I had to wager 10x the amount of my promo money, and anything after $1500 I could keep, up to $2500. I was a novice, but quickly learned the system and had a couple of good runs to get the money up to $2400. Alabama screwed me against Utah, so I never made it to $2500. Ended up hitting a big wall, statistics kicked in and I'm currently at $350. Anyway it kept me entertained for a year and I watched more football than I once thought possible.

So long story to say, anybody willing to put up gil as an in-game house? I would do it, but I'm only sitting on 2.7 mil right now, so I couldn't cover a lot of action. Just some points, I wouldn't do any parlays, straight bets only. And there would need to be some system set up to take bets based on the current Vegas odds, but that shouldn't be too hard to do. 10% vig on wins should be reasonable, and bets would need to be paid up front, so this would require a large amount of trust. But then build a name for yourself and it shouldn't be a problem. Anybody interested?

Send casino a tell, or is it the great gamibini. I'm sure they're interested lol. Ill pass

I don't know who Casino or Gamibini are, but I'm not talking /random in Jeuno.

Most people don't understand how big sports betting really is, or how much bookies actually make. Assuming you're pretty good at laying odds, you're basically paying off all winning bets with losing bets, and raking 10% off the top. More if you're in an area where gambling is kept hush hush.

Anyways, gambling isn't for everyone, and this is not some gimmick to make a ton of money in game. It's purely for entertainment value, at least that's how the B&M places sell it ;) Seriously though, if you enjoy the thrill of watching a RB or QB on your fantasy league put up big numbers, imagine watching your team go up by two touchdowns with 2 minutes when you have 100 bucks riding on the game. It's then easy to see how addictive gambling can get.

I'd actually be interested in this as well. I have a bunch of gil I don't really have much use for, and I enjoy betting on football as much as the next guy. Sadly, I don't play enough or have enough gil to think I could handle being the "bookie" for all of it.

If you do find someone though, or someone here volunteers, consider me a future customer.

I'd consider doing this as long as i was able to make the vig like 10% and i would also need to have an agreed upon place to check the points since it seems to vary slightly from site to site. Also i would need to prolly put a cap on the bets til i got some more money in my corner.

Dejavu,

I think 10% is pretty fair considering how much work would go into this to do it right. I would also recommend taking the money up front. The best way I see of doing this would be to take Monday morning lines from a popular site on games you're giving action on, and make a post on here listing them. There are plenty of sites out there listing good spreads. People then would post in that thread what their bets would be. You would need a lot of participation in this, and you would need to watch your lines closely. If someone places a large bet on one side of a game, then you would move your line even if Vegas doesn't. Because your whole goal is to have equal action on both sides of a line. The key to it all is to get a lot of people participating. If you decide to take the plunge and start it up, I'll help in trying to get the word out.

What do u think should i maybe make a social group for this?

Social group created... ill work out some more of the details later but atm its only gonna be NFL regular season and we will see how it goes from here.
