It takes 3 Tarus to open a door. How could anyone expect them to win a Conquest?
I believe I read that in the historical logs Calais linked me to.I always suspected that Tarus lack of height was an evolutionary adaptation too. The taller Taru couldn't spend all day looking up Mithra skirts, so they died out.
Anyone else heard that theory?

Weren't the Tarus a races of tiny savages originally until they learned the ways of magic and then sold their knees for massive MP pools?
It's the reason you NEED 3 tarus to open the door that counts.
May seem like a bit of inefficency to us... But when you KNOW what you make behind sealed doors... And you need 3 peopel to open them... Shit's going down.
We call them summoners... Back then, they were practicers of the forbidden arts, taversing realities and dimensions to make Blood Pacts with demons and gods, in the persuit of power.
I thinks a door was in order in a couple places.
If you've been to Windy as a Mithra, I'm sure you'd know that Tarus are at least 3 parts deviant to every 1 part magic user...
You like constipated bagpipes blaringacross the town?Sandy is really the only starting town I can stand to be in for a long time. The music is decent if that's all that's playing.
I agree there on the handy farming that can be attempted quite early on in level too, just sucks to be in a town where it takes you 10 minutes to run to a AH or outside lol.But for starting area to level, I'd definately go Windy considering the size of West and East Saru. Plus the silk thread and bee hive chips even though they are kinda brokened.
and here's another reason why taru are better than those dhalmel.

It sounds like they went Sparta all over those Elvaan.FFXIclopedia said:Born in the lands of the Near East, the first president of Bastok held office from 494 to 503.
While still a youth, Mayer was seduced by the gold rush's promise of easy wealth, and stowed away on a ship bound for the Quon continent. His tireless excavations in the Gusgen Mines earned him the nickname of "Ironman Mayer."
When his wife was killed by a San d'Orian soldier, Mayer put down his pickaxe for a sword, and formed a partisan force along with his friend Dalha. Mayer triumphed against the San d'Orian army by luring the Elvaan into a narrow ravine, gaining him fame and respect among the working class.
The Republic of Bastok was declared in 494. After being elected as president for life, Mayer was responsible for building the foundation of the republic by forging diplomatic relations with other countries and drafting the nation's constitution. He was assassinated nine years later by a Galkan youth.
