So yes I have gotten my fair share of unwanted random tells for help in game. But this is a new one for me; Unsolicited /tells (e-mails) from readers of these boards sent to my mailbox for these forums.
The request was simple, I'll post it here.

"Do you know where I can get a fishing bot? I have to work and therefore do not have alot of time to spend on raising any craftskills when I get to play. If you can help that would be awesome"

Now i'm curious, was this a mass sent mail across the boards or was I for some reson the only lucky recipient?
As for the nature of this request, I have no qualms helping people either in game, or out of it on these boards about it. However, that being said, if you would like advice on how to use 3rd party modifiers, or where to get them in order to cheat the game, DO NOT message me. IMHO, ppl that chose to use bots have made their own choice and must live with the possible reprocussions. Either Way, Botter or No, I don't particularly care.
Just Don't Ask Me.

Well, I don't think it was a mass-message, becuase as of right now, I have still never gotten a PM in my board in-box. Perhaps people figure that because you're a high-level player, you have underhanded ways of getting money for the equipment you need.

This, of course, is ridiculous.

TOP 10 Random tell requests:

1. Genkai 1 - Paper "[help me out!] [limit] 1 [paper]"
2. AF coffer key "[help me out!] [key] [monistic cavern]"
3. AF NM "[help me out!] [notorious monster] [fey'in]"
4. Genkai 2 NM battle
5. GiL - "can i have some gil?"

I get on average 5 tells a day asking for genkai help (Being a thf with TH).. about 2~7 tells a day asking for AF help. And about 2 tells asking for gil.. the genkai 2 tells are usually asking that i solo the mob for them.. or asking me to take them to xcabard... As for gil.. i never give it out.. except this one time.. this little taru came up to me waved ran around and traded... i msged "?" and she asked for gil... i have to admit it was so cute and funny i had to throw something her way

AFAIK I am the only one who can send out mass PM/email. Unfortunately the board doesn't allow you to ignore incoming PM from certain users. Should there be a case of abuse I can disable the ability to send PMs for certain users.

Would be funny if that PM would make it's way to the flameboard ... ;)

I got nothing like that, chances are someone saw you were a high level ranger and thought you must be getting that gil somehow, so they may ask you if you have a bot. Looks like you made a fan, LOL.

BTW, can I get like 500,000 gil, I wanna Powerlevel goldsmithing....

-_-
why do ppl think rng have lots of gil. i bet 2 mil that lots of ppl in here have more cash than i do in game.

I dont answer /tell's from people usually if there attatching a question.. even if they are aquantinces that I know. Its gets outta hand... I help one guy one time and he tells all his friends who to /tell to get help... and its just annoying.

If you can bet 2 mil, you have a lot more than me, hehe.

Yeah, I've recieced a few pm's from people on this board commenting on what I've written, but they were all positive so I don't mind. That's pretty funny you got a pm like you did.
I also get /tell 's from people in the game commenting on what I've written on the board. 2 negative, a few dozen positive, so I don't really mind.
It's an interesting question, whether or not it's an innapropriate invasion of privacy. Funny thing is, someone interrupts me when I'm busy with something positive, I don't mind. Some one interrupts me doing nothing, and its negative (only happened twice) it annoyed me. The former didn't seem like an invasion, but the latter did. Given the circumstances, it should be opposite.
