Okay, so after a rather painful dynamis night me and Mirewen hopped onto our duo jobs and started to build a pt. Luckily there was a nin seeking so we grabbed him. This ninja's name was Sheladaris. The name was tickling the back of my mind which is never a good thing, but I decided to roll with it. It takes a while but we manage to get a pt built with a somewhat odd setup but whatever. Seeing that CN was pretty packed I swapped to my whm and Tele-Yhoat'd us so we could camp the gobs by Ifrit's Cauldron.

So they get there, I go to Kazham and swap to my mnk and chocobo back to camp and we get started. Most of the fights go well except that the gobs spammed tp a bit since we were mostly melee so there was a tad bit of downtime (jp blm who was nice enough to play healer for us and mirewen's brd was all the healing we had). This is pretty much a moot point though because not 15 minutes into killing the following exchange takes place:

sheladarisfw1.jpg

He just disbands, blows up, and goes off to do whatever the fuck was more important than the five of us's time (as of the time I'm writing this, he's sitting in Whitegate).

As you can see by the bottom of the dialogue there, Mirewen and I remembered why his name was familiar. Maybe a week ago tops we were xping in Gustav Tunnel and another pt showed up. The other pt was nice enough to camp inside so we didn't clash too much. Sheladaris was their tank and not an hour into xping he did the same thing to them as well (left the pt because his ls needed him).

So basically, if you're around lvl 45 and you need a tank, don't invite this guy unless you want to waste your time replacing him when his ls comes before you in order of importance.

And there he is, sitting in Whitegate on his MNK, not in pt... 30 mins later. LS needed you? Come up with a better excuse, that one gets old.

On the one hand yea that's a bummer especially if he's just sitting on his thumbs, i'd be pissed too. On the other if someone was in my LS/guild/whatever and i said i needed them for something vs a pick up group ... fuck you guys. Take it with a grain of salt considering the source. Being on the outside looking in i'm more inclined to be optomistic outside of a blatant bail with the ls/guild being a out and out lie.

Edit: which apprently it was. <.<

Don't beat me.

I don't know about your ls, but every ls I've been in plans things ahead of time. Barring something really crazy popping up out of nowhere and requiring immediate action like say rushing to Tiamat after it pops (ie not sitting in Whitegate 30 minutes after the fact), there's no reason to even seek pt if you know something might come up. And considering this is the 2nd occurance in under a week, it has to make you wonder.

Cry me a river. Do you not think this doesn't happen every single day? Yeah it sucks but shit happens, roll with it. Woulda taken probably half an hour for another tank to get there if you got one right away. In the mean time you 5 coulda killed lower level stuff to not waste time, that is if Mirewen hadn't of up and bailed exactly like that nin did. The party probably wouldn't have lasted long anyway from the sound of the setup and the mobs you were fighting. Nin tank on mean-ass goblins isn't usually a great idea, specially when there's hardly any healing power. Sounds to me like this party was destined to fail from the beginning, you really shouldn't have blown up like you did.

Most people put their ls over an exp party anyways. A good ls is like an in-game family, a party is like a few strangers you pick up to exploit for a few hours. Of course if this guy is just using this 'ls' bullshit as a scapegoat then fuck him and stay away, but we don't know that, he was probably in whitegate to get his shit together, gear up/group up/whatever. I recall when I got my Duneboots I had been lookin for that cactuar for awhile, and when he was finally up I called in all my favors and I'm sure pulled a few people away from exp/etc. cause frankly, that NM was more important than an exp party. You can exp any day of the week any time, ls events don't happen every day.

's pretty much the only thing i can think of, tiamat, cerb, Khim, though if you don't get the claim there's a rather distinct possibility that yo0u could be sitting in whitegate 30 mins later.

I never wonder.

It pays to be quick with the big 'DUMBASS' stamp every once in a great while, as if i had to tell you. ;)

So ... yea, that's it for me. Sucks to be you, most likely gonna suck to be him in the future.

Boobies.

Try reading, please. This is a note to people who like to actually xp and accomplish things. If you are not one of those people, piss off. Oh and note: he's still in Whitegate.

I remember the dude spamming emotes on Charybdis as I was tanking it. It didn't phaze me any, though, I couldn't help but giggle whenever I thought about him thinking him to himself and saying: "Yeah, I'm totally owning this dude by doing this."

Can't have a flame without someone defending the flamed, call me the devil's advocate.
Reading flames about a game I no longer play and issuing advice is the only thing that keeps me sane, sue me.
Actually, it's kind of like a public service to all you, lending my wisdom and such. I think I should start getting paid for this shit.

Anyone know the name of his ls? Getting a member to come here and tell us what was so important that he had to ditch a pt for would clear a lot up. Either he lied and is a prick or something important did happen.

Just /sea'd his name. Seems he's at mt z(w/e) so Cerberus could have popped though i didn't know there was a lot of CC for it.

Edit: 25 people in that zone atm. So there really is no excuse to ditch a pt like that for a HNM that will be up for a long time.

Well, you fulfilled the role well; you only read a small portion of the post and then posted your response regardless of it's irrelevance, making you look like an idiot. If you got paid, the job would have to be "forum fool."

Might want to actually make sure it's advice before you advertise it as such.

Thanks for the heads up, Rappa, and invite my thief again soon!

PLDs are so 2k4, bwink tank onry.

This kid is a noob. He got mad at me for booting his gimp BLU friend...As we were going to camp in Mt. Z (LV 65ish) the BLU saw some bombs and wanted us to get refuling...now I hadn't leveled with many BLUs, but thats like a late 40s spell I think. When we wouldn't take time out to get refuling his gimp friend decided to work his way to camp...only to find out he didn't have oils/powders, so i booted and invited a WAR.

I love when people pass me lead to do their dirty work.

Where do you get off making baseless, false and retarded accusation's like that?
You really need to get over this grudge you have against me. I could say that I wanted world peace and you would take time out of your life to list all the reasons why I'm wrong. Whatever I did to you, let it the fuck go.
