You are a dick.

If you're a mage and not standing next to the Quadav your friends are fighting, you are also a dick. They don't have any AE attacks, and making melees chase after a Quadav because you pulled hate is moronic.

Also, if you're running from a mob, you're a dick(This one applies to every event in the game outside of kite tactics.) No ones subbing WAR. No ones going to voke it off you(Because WAR mains forget they have it.) Don't run, or die because no one could melee to get hate.

Always /blockaid, but shouldn't fucking be necessary.
All I can say that the campaign recommendation letter NPCs and the Scholar NPCs don't despawn during campaign anymore. If you're waiting around for another NPC, don't stand around looking like a dumbass, help out.

Since I've barely scratched the surface of the content, how about explaining why that makes the mage a dick? From what I can see, they cured you. If there's something wrong with it, explain it.

Curing him kept canceling out the event of talking to the npc, basically any actions on you will immediately break you out of talking to an NPC; so he couldn't turn in his points or whatever you do with campaign because someone was spamming cures on him. It's something that's always been in the game, it's just more problematic now.
 
damn Baj beat me to it. but i think that makes the mage in question an idiot, not a dick.

unless he was doing it on purpose?
 
Ah, makes sense. I wouldn't say it makes him a dick, though. It's not like a mage knows when you're in a cutscene or not.
 
might as well start a another guide for campaign like you did besieged

In all fairness you were missing HP. If he was curing you for zero's it'd seem alot more intentional. He probably just didn't think about the fact it skips your event. Wouldn't call him a dick over it, I'd have just sent him a tell asking him to stop not make a flame.
 
In my opinion you don't have anything to flame about. Campaign works the same as besieged in that you get points for curing others. The guy had no clue you were trying to talk to an NPC. And for your other comment about Quadav's not having AoE, there are mobs in these events that do have them. This hasn't even been released for a week so don't expect everyone to know everything about all mobs. I did 3 E. Ronfaure campaign battles, none of the mobs were above 70ish, this morning before work I do one and every mob was 80 to 85ish and had AoE.

qft. its not like he was curing you for 0's. it was someone trying to be nice. get the fuck over it.
 
I see 3 cures in the ss. Looks like a BLM doing it judging by the III's and II. I'm quite certain you could find the time to type /blockaid on somewhere between those heals being that you were most likley on MNK (it's gonna take that BLM a while to top you off). Maybe it's faster to have your event skipped, SS the incident, alt-tab, upload to photobucket, copy/paste the
 
Yeah, if he was trying to be a dick, he'd have used Cure 1; he was obviously topping you off.

I'll agree with the point about not running the mobs away from everyone else (durrrr). However, as for the "waaaah I got cured waaaah" ...

- You *did* need the curing, they were apparently doing it to be nice (or to get credit).
- They had no way of knowing you were trying to talk to the NPC (you could've simply been standing there, chilling near the NPC during campaign isn't the most unthinkable of ideas).
- You certainly didn't say anything to them to inform them otherwise.
- And you could've blockaided.

In other words, do try to limit your complaints to reasonable subjects. That way, the thread doesn't turn into a fun little fest of poking fun at your own faults, instead of what you were trying to complain about. :P
 
I wouldn't even be able to tell if /blockaid would work just from the screenshot Skaw posted of the chat log. You can't tell if it's an outside cure or if they're partied/allianced up. All I could tell from it was that some mage, somewhere, knocked him out of a cutscene.

Of the three "you're a dick" examples posted, the one with the screenshot was the least dick-worthy.
 
Skaw you should know better than that. If you don't want people to cure you then don't go trying to talk to npc's with low HP. You're like bitching at firemen for saving you from a fire because you wanted to roast some smores. Fail flame is fail.

if ! does not mean equals then my apologies, many interchange those words often; nothing against sil if it does or doesn't since I used to interchange them.

i've always used and seen = / = but thats just me
