When I finally decided to check QCDN tonight I was welcomed to this post after not posting on anything relating to the policies of qcdn since this thread

Sept 2nd at 3:10 pm til Sept 4th at 11:28 pm… Hmmm… 56hrs and 18 minutes later…I really do need to settle the fuck down… I type much faster than that and I’m going to have a fucking stroke.

So let me respond to this the best way that I know how.

Why yes actually, I do have a problem thank you for asking; however, I do not feel like getting over it I would rather see it fixed.

Flames need to start resorting back to FFXI and FFXI only.

Oh but what about this part… well this is refers to people who are angry at the site QCDN like this thread and not really towards people who are angry at people who use QCDN… Hence my comment

If you want to know the problems with the way that masta is running the boards let me list them for you.

1. Locking threads on the flame board for no good reason (thinking that a flame has run its course is not a good reason)

It is the flameboard when we are done with a flame it will fall of the front page in a natural death. The only valid reason for locking a thread should be if someone necros.

2. Locking threads with no reason given even though it has been stated that one should be.

Apparently a policy has been put in place so this wont happen in the future however the explanation needs to be fucking added when the thread is locked because if it is a good thread there are most likely a few people who are in the process of typing responses to it like I was on the princemercury thread. When I hit post it said thread was locked and there was no explanation. I hit refresh a few times and there was still no explanation so I made a post in the QCDN Support, Feedback and Announcements section which is the correct course of action to take when you have a comment about something that is going on, on the board.

Not only was that thread locked before I felt that it was resolved but Miros also felt the need to edit my original post and change the title of my thread… Why?

3. Deleting or locking threads because they are controversial

Well shit I cant exactly post a link for this kind of occasion because the have been deleted. What is wrong with a little controversy? The thread that both Enlenne and Princemercury posted were both interesting to read and in no way warranted having the threads locked. Same thing applies to the gay pride thread and any religion threads.

4. Miros response to the flame

Goddamn, quick flame. I'm not sure how I feel about this and what I'd like to do. It's going to remain locked for now until I get my dinner finished and talk to a few closer personal confidants. On one hands, yes, this I guess would be the place to go to for flames related to this. However, I have been speaking to a few people regarding this site and when they visit it, I don't want this to be the thing they see. I'll accept PMs while I'm cooking to discuss further if need be. I'll let the decision be made when I come back.

There is only one group that should be concerned with the content that is being posted on this board and they are the community members. I don’t give a fuck who the hell you have coming to the site that you think that you need to clean it up to your standards. We are the members of this forum and if we decide to enter into a conversation about the dating of a 12 year old girl (ewww btw) then we should be allowed to have that conversation. The members of the site should be allowed to decide the content of the site… if no one wanted to talk about it then it wouldn’t have been addressed in the first place.

If the people that you have visiting the site are going to think less of you or us because of what they read us conversing about I have a question for you. Who the fuck cares? If you are trying to use this site to get a job… Then they should understand that we are people and you don’t have any control over what is posted… well shouldn’t. If you are just showing this site to your friends then what the hell is the problem and if you are showing this to someone else for some other reason… Who fucking cares what they think about the members of this forum for whatever reason.

Conclusion

So Audino you ask if I have a problem… and my answer is yes I have a huge fucking problem and it happens to be everyone who has the button that allows them to edit, delete or lock anyone else’s thoughts out of the conversation because they do not like them even though they have not directly broken any rules.

The flame board will turn into whatever the community wants it to turn into if we want to see more pictures of Kefka or popcorn then that’s what will be posted… the people who don’t like what is posted can stop reading at any time.. I don’t believe this is the only page your internet window allows you to view.

Rules on the flameboard beyond the security of sensitive information are extremely useless the only thing that it will cause is the death of the site… if that’s what you are going for have a fucking ball because your doing a bang up job. And if you don’t like masta Audino I can always start calling you Sculli… but even I think that that is a bit below the belt. For the most part we are adults... so treat us like one and stop editing our content whatever that may be.

First off, Audino I love you, and this has nothing to do with you, thought I should mention.
I agree with my dearest friend DJ, people with the control to lock and edit other peoples post, for no apparent reason, or out of sure bias. Like when Mikeman posted the "truth" about Mikeman thread and later someone just edited everyone of his entire postings. What he posted may have been Bullshit, but hey its a forum and this forum especially is 99% pure unadulterated bullshit, and damn it, I wanted to read it.
If someone is trolling or necro posting on a thread, there are understandable instances to lock or edit post. Editing and locking threads because "You" don't agree? People post bullshit and I want to read it. Welcome to QCDN.

Oh and another thought, shouldn't we have the power to edit our own post? Like if we fuck up some spelling or grammar shouldn't we have the right to fix it ourselves? Most of us are adults here, and contrary to what a lot of us think we are not perfect, and sometimes I make mistakes. Often I post incomplete thoughts, and am forced to make another responding thread instead of just editing it and adding it to my previous post. This would be a perfect example. If we have the liberty to post our free thoughts we should have the liberty to edit/change when we feel fit, and not have someone do it for us.

Mikemans posts were edited by himself before the thread was moved to the flameboard...

Look at the first post. Miros said that the posts were edited before the move into Flameboard. Mikeman was the one that edited all of his own posts because he was frustrated or something. It's his own reasons and I don't know the guy personally. It's not too hard to search your own posts and edit them really quick.

I don't think throwing down with a mod in public usually ends well...

I have to disagree with "Flameboard is what the community makes it" bid cus well... We don't have that authority or power, and we never will. If Reeve or Miros or Arc says the FB goes buh-byes then its gone, you can bitch gripe and moan but there wouldnt be a damn thing you could do about it. These players are mods or admins for a reason and what they say or do, goes. This isn't the US or any other country, it is QCDN.org and if you don't like whats going down, then hit logout and never come back...

It's this type of post that Aud's been trying to get rid of, the useless pointless pc+1's, which have been being posted by retards that just like seeing their own name rather than posting something worthwhile.

Dejavu, as someone who has tried this (flaming mods) before, realize what Aud's doing has been for the greater good. There will be mistakes along the way, but in the effort to collectively better the FFXI portion of the board, mistakes may happen. His goal is collectively the same as mine, keep legit flames around and keep the stupid PC+1's at bay.

As for his happy trigger-lock finger, I can see the agitation. But with the focus being set to clean up this portion of the forum, disagreements will happen with what is the correct choices.

- Its not the cool thing to do. When threads go off topic from one flame to another "flame" then thats one thing. When threads go off topic from a flame to a picture posting festival, then threads will be cleaned and or locked. Your PC +1's will be likely taken care of as well. Any "/grabs popcorn" or "hurr hurr, he said the f word" posts will normally be cleared. If a flame can be carried on without skipping a beat after your post has been deleted, then it's probably going to be deleted
