Hey Quetz, Dashuto here and it looks like I'll be keeping that name. Glad to join up. I have to agree it would be messed up if rings changed, but at least you can re-distribute the bands now via wedding NPC so if the GM's decide to be complete douchebags, you can at least salvage a named ring.
