Don't even click on shit like that, it's just asking for trojans/viruses.

    Customer Service Survey on Playonline.com

I haven't played in months but I filled it out. I've been reading the threads and this whole situation is complete bullshit. Take 20 minutes and fill it out. Sucks you only get 1000 characters to type in the freeform fields.

    Mysterious Lump

If it doesn't change in size or doesn't start hurting don't worry about it. Keep an eye on it but things like cancer will give you other symptoms too. I have a bump directly behind my left earlobe too. Popped up a few weeks ago and has very slowly got smaller but hasn't gone away. No pain...

This is correct, same with Flys.

    RMTs and GMs who dont help ; ;

Keep and eye on who's in the zone during non-prime time hours (NA morning and afternoon are good). After like 2+ years at BLM 75 I finally got mine a few weeks ago, nobody in zone for quite a while and there he was, up and unclaimed. First time I tried and I got it no sweat, didn't have to...

    POL News: All Worlds Maintenance

Nope! That's weird though, I would assume they monitored physical link connectivity through some type of electricity so cutting the wire would break it but I guess not. Did you have to sweep up all the data that fell out when it broke?

And thanks a ton for letting us know Artum. If you understand my crazy anology and it is indeed what's happening I would seriously consider reporting it to SE, anonymously if necessary.

    POL News: All Worlds Maintenance

The reason you can't decrypt corrupted stuff is essentially the same reason you can't unZIP a corrupt ZIP file. The decryption program does something like this: "Ok let's see here, I'll unecrypt this chunk and I'm expecting this result." "Great that worked, next chunk." "Worked again, next"...

If Art would answer my question would could tell if it's the route between the hosts that's corrupting the data or the actual encrypted data itself is corrupted which means it must be on SE's end. His assertion is a VERY important clue, if true.

    POL News: All Worlds Maintenance

Actually, as a possible alternative, I would be happy to explain why corrupt encrypted files are unencryptable, but only if you answer my question about where the corruption occured. ;)

Art buddy I didn't want to play this card but I have to now: I've been a UNIX admin for almost 10 years now, senior level for 7. I don't specialize in networking but I've had to touch it very often, so I know it well. I've passed both HP's and Sun's networking certifications. I have a very...

    POL News: All Worlds Maintenance

The "research" you did is impossible as I explained before. Either you're not telling the whole story or you're lying, I still don't understand why you won't address my point if you feel you're so right and have done this "research". If you did what you said you did then answering my question...

    POL News: All Worlds Maintenance

If it is some type of traffic shaping it was implemented at the exact same time that FFXI was updated, and the odds are sharply against that.

    POL News: All Worlds Maintenance

Alright, I'll check back later to see if Art has responded to his paradox of a statement. If the encrypted FFXI data is corrupt then it's SE's fault. A router along the way cannot magically break SE's encryption, corrupt the FFXI data inside then re-encrypt it and send it on its way. If the...

    POL News: All Worlds Maintenance

Have you ever seen InternetWeatherReport or any of the other web sites devoted to the health of the internet? You won't see it on Fox but you will see it there... Your last statement is incorrect. The client has NO IDEA of the route the packet will take to reach its destination, it only knows...
