The only problem I have with the game lately is that I am constantly killing my companions/animals. I use a bow pretty much exclusively, and I have shot to death a dog, two horses, and two companions. I try to keep them out of my line of sight, but they move around so much.

I played a little bit of the beta this weekend. It was alright, but I don't think I'm going to get it. I think I'm finally over MMOs.

You can't decide who you party with. I don't know if it random or whatever, but even under ideal conditions, there is no guarantee you will be able to party together.

My problem with that is that I like playing with my friends. We can talk to each other and make strategies and then share a laugh about our awful failures while drunk later.

It is kind of obnoxious. You need a specific item, you have to be within a 10% level range or each other, one of you has to be human, it ends when the boss of that area dies, your partner has to click the soapstone you set out in the same area you place it, but you can't use party chat to talk...

This game is already so damn difficult. After leaving the starting area, I thought it would be a good idea to attack the seemingly unarmed NPC by the campsite. He was not unarmed. This was a mistake. He killed me almost instantly and then the game reloaded me right next to him. After dying...

I think this is for the best. Changing from a magic job to a melee job in XIV takes a lot of point reassigning and is usually a hassle and a half. This way we can play whatever we want without having to wait for reset timers to change.

I'm pretty sure they aren't charging a monthly fee, yet. The game is leaps and bounds better now then it was when it was released. I think once the big 1.18 patch hits, the game will be a lot more fun.

I've tried going back in the past, and jumping right back into the grind sucked. Starting from scratch gives me lots to do, and it's been a lot more fun. Nope, not yet. I'm hoping to find a linkshell soon, though.

Where do I get a mog sack? Does it cost gil? Merged auction houses is going to be awesome. Thanks for the heads up.

So I decided to get back into ffxi last week. Rather than re-re-reactivating Pasquale, I opted to start completely fresh: new character, new server, etc. This game is not easy to start from scratch. It's been fun so far. There are so many things I need to do that I don't remember doing at...

Also in Illinois. Also buried in snow. Yesterday I got the day off because the building I work in didn't have any power. I spent almost 4 hours clearing snow off my driveway. I also had to shovel out a path in the backyard because the snow was too high for my dog. Took me 2 hours to drive...
