I recieved a PM just now as logging in and i thought, "Oh cool! Someone actually wants to talk to me." Alas, it was from a perma-banned account talking to me about buddhism. Obviously a bot. My question: Has this happened to anyone else? Are bots starting to get smarter? There probably isn't a...

/praise repeatedly

This isn't a complaint, really, as the vast majority of these wonderful things have been filtered by the CAPTCHAs, or at least my imagination would lead me to believe... ;D Is it at all possible to automate a delete post/ban based on the contents of a post? Every single spam post I have ever...

We get (and ban) bots all the time on this forum and the same goes for nearly every other forum. We ignore this stuff and it is quickly deleted anyway. We also delete lots of junk e-mail and get hundreds of junk e-mails in our spam folders which we never even glance at. Now it is quite obvious...

(Didnt post in Meet and Greet, because seems out of place there) Anyway, a way to foil the bots.. Hmm. How could they be foiled? Lets brainstorm. Ive noticed in some forums that you are given allowance to post in certain boards after your post count has reached a certain number. Could QCDN...

Hi all :) Having a limited understanding of programming and databases, I can sort of see how a claim bot must work. First, let me lay out my assumptions, and anyone who can correct me where I misstep would be most appreciated. 1) NMs must have a unique identifier(index number) on their data...

Lock this please

I'm sure you've all noticed the increasing amount of bot threads that have been popping up lately (mostly in the Flameboard now). I've been trying to think of some way to fix this and I was wondering, is it possible to make it so that a new account cannot post links in it first few posts? I...

My normal source of income was always mining. I used to be able to mine for an afternoon and get a reasonable sum of gil and not much effort. The amount varied greatly but it was better than most other forms of farming as a white mage. My normal spot had always been gusgen mines after I...

Anyone buy silk thread, beetle jaws, mythri beastcoins, gold beastcoins or maybe another type of stackable item notice the two people buying up all the item listed here(maybe more)? They keep buying them at cut rate prices in fact as low as others place them on AH. I noticed Lunarnaut and...

after seeing a screen shot of a macroing program for ffxi, i looked up the name of the program that i had seen in that screenie, and ran across this website that had a couple different macroes. this one in particular specialized in fishbots. well, read for yourself. wont take them long to fix...

a while back there was an argument that it is not possible to have a healer be a bot in a pt. i was sufing the web and happen to run across a site that showed downloads for any kind of bot u could think of.....boke, bots PLing bots, fish bots etc. damn botters...i hate you...

Now..I only ask this question because of botters, because on my last game bots were made 'legal' but the devs added certen monsters ect to stop absent botting e.g. fishing for 8+ hours while you sleep or constant absent farming. I know in fishing that in some areas ect that u can fish up...

Seen the heat turned up on a post about bots on Alla, figured to start our own sparring match. Do you find the use of fishing bots acceptable? Please elaborate your opinion. For the record, if you are an actual bot user, please do not admit to it on here, kinda self-explanatory, but figured...
