hmm.... G1 is a long time ago...but don't you do that at 50??.

If it's the case, THF56/NIN21 just makes something go wrong...maybe I'm not aware that 56<50...

And about the conversation WSM...I will still be able to sleep tonight even knowing that.

Any reliable source for this info, or did you just wake up and asked yourself "I wonder what I can post on QCDN today...".

Also, next time make a descriptive thread title in an attempt to be less of a forum noob. Thanks.

Not to imply any of this is the truth. It just makes me wonder.....

I think if 1/3 of the FFXI population was gil sellers, they would sell mass amounts of gil for dirt cheap or else the actuall farmers would probably have to be on a waiting list to cash in. For all we know it could be so now. It's to my understanding that the price of gil has decreased (Please don't think i purchase gil cause i know these things.)

An article some of us read posted in these boards somewhere indicated that China has a whopping 24,000,000 people who play MMORPG's and sell game currency. (That's almost the population of Canada). China itself is 1/3 of the planet's human population might i add.

Question is: (if there really are 24 million people selling game currency in China) "How many of them play Final Fantasy XI, which celebrated 1,500,000 accounts ?" (I think 6 monthes ago). Keep in mind these numbers for sellers (24mil) are spread out amoungs all the major MMORPG titles, which are still very few.

The 24M number is also spread among MMOs we have never even heard of. There is a shitload of games out of Korea that doesn't hit the NA market at all. Also, lets say they play their accounts in shifts to maximize earnings and minimize costs. Lets just for ease of calculation assume 8 hour shifts, that means that there are 8M accounts active across all games that provide some sort of currency (D2 etc). Let's just say that they ONLY work on the games IGE sells currency for, AO, CoH, DAoC, EVE, EQ, EQ2, GW, FFXI, L2, Second Life, SWG, UO, WoW. That's 13 games, with how many servers? I guesstimate 500 servers. That would mean on any one of those game servers at any given time, 16,000 chinese are farming.

I think it's obvious that this is not true.

Wait... RMT in Second Life?

Isn't Second Life based off RMT in the first place?

Most of the Korean MMOs I played had all their currency sold by the company itself. Hard to compete with a company that can make it from scratch. I don't see alot of those being great sources of revanue for a 3rd PT.

I just read an article that gave the approximate percentages of rmt players in certain games and FFXI was on the list but towards the bottom. I want to say it was in the mid 20% of players in FFXI are involved in RMT transactions, but that would include buyers also. I tried to find the article again but cannot - stupid me. If anyone has read that article and has it linked I would like to read it again. I think Ultima was at like 50% or so.

i read it on an article somewhere.A guy in my WoW guild was makin fun of FFXI by referring to it also. But well yeah even this website that flames gil sellers 24/7 supports them
