#1 reason, playing SMN drives me nuts.

Please tell me how a Sam and Drk will TP at the same rate, given that the Sam isn't some insane gimp?

Absorb-TP?

haste as well?

Neo, there are certain circumstances where two melee DD can actually time tp gain right. two DD with 2 handed weps with similar acc will more than likely be able to match up tp gain, its happened to me plenty of times. Basing something just on your own experience is kind of one-sided. Saying someone fails because their experience with it doesnt match yours is not right at all.

certian circumstances? we are talking about the generality here, not "a once in awhile situation"

and omg, a party with *2* people with 2handed weapons???

y hello thar 3k/hour :(

you're right though, my experience in almost 5 jobs to 75 is so null and void, i havent tried hardly any setups.

lmao crosis, bad example to go there. Sam = meditate = can sc whenever he wants just about within a few min. A sam will pull out a ws solo, then when the drk has tp, will SC with a drk (but there are hardly any good SCs with drk and sam so i give u props for that)

Wow.... that only shows how blantly ignorant you. Meditate is a 3 minute recast which charges 100 TP (120-140 i think with AF helm 140-160 with helm n relic legs). The main point you missed is the fact that the only job that gets more TP per hit than SAM is RNG and by a point on ranged attack. The ability which gives SAM more TP per swing is called "Store TP" the more "Store TP" added you have the more TP you gain per hit. That's why we "bash" you right there. The fact that you think 2 two handed weapon toting DDs can TP the same. Each weapon has a different TP build on it DRK builds REALLY slowly even with haste on because of low delay. Your argument fails because you never party to know that in order of TP build with two handed weapon(talking how fast) is RNG (considered two hand because it gets TP like two handed)> SAM> WAR (If using Gaxe)> > LOLDrg (I put LOL becasue you're the type of person that makes DRGs look bad)> DRK> Staff users. If you wanted to go single handed I wouldnt be able to say order because that really varies.

Edit: Laughing to hard at bland ignorance to say to OP not having Fenrir is ok in my books I'd still invite you as long as you do Earthen Ward n Aerial Armor and heal. I haven't pt'd with SMN since update so IDK how exactly they are now.

I'll never understand why ppl hate DRGs and think the players that play DRGs are dumb or whatever ( maybe I missed something ~ don't really care)

Well to go back to what the topic was about:

SMNs and Fenrir. I managed to lvl SMN all the way to 55-60 ish with out the puppy. Ppl asked me why I didnt have him and I merely said I just dont have him or I didnt have all my whispers (but I was working on it though duoing them with a NIN75 on my WHM74)

Why? Well the way I see it: As with any job. Make good use of whatever you have and this new update makes SMNs job a hell of a lot easier on the DD and Support jobs. It depends on the player to take advantage of what you have now.

If the party is too dependent on Fenrir's buffs to function, something is wrong. It might make things go faster but still. I've been in alot of parties as SMN where I've rarely had to cast Fenrir to buff. I've grown accustomed to just asking my party what avatar buffs do they want. Most of the time they just say Hastega and EW and do HRII ever so often cause of bad AOEs (Damn flies in Caedarva).

But that's just me though >.>

EDIT: Errors and sentence structures....blah blah

back to the original topic.

from experience, i took summoner to 75 first job. i love it sooo much nothing was gonna change that. i went with no fenny to 58. before the patch. parties dealt with it. just stay persistent and get him when you can. dont get discouraged, if you need help getting him, send me a tell in game. learn how to play the job well by getting all your avatars at 20. fight them till you pwn them all.

If me doing my job well ingame and not bringing my so called "ignorance" into the party means im an loldrg still, its messed up. Im shutting up right now kuz i dont feel like being opinionated anymore, it just messes crap up.

A lot of DRGs are rather embarrassing, I'm afraid...

A person's knowledge on other jobs has absolutely nothing to do about their knowledge on the job that they play. I might be ignorant and stupid about other jobs, but Im actually a pretty decent drg if you've ever pted or been around me.

Whats with the "Fenrir is useless near New Moon" dealy? Do your mages not use INT/MND/CHR or something? And yeah,Howl will give alot of +eva and little +acc near New Moon, but then what does Lunar Cry do in that case? Think about it for a sec. =P

Well, I don't see Growl benefiting much of anyone besides a BLM near New Moon and SMNs normally don't party with BLMs. At least I usually didn't.

As for Lunar Cry it was quite inaccurate before the update and would often miss the mob, not sure how accurate it is now though.

Lol I'd like to see your standards of decent because you don't even know anything about the most desired sub for drg now at 75. Store TP ftw w/ meditate hasso and jumps DRG is a TP machine. I bet you didn't know that one did ya? It's like you saying a PLD not provoking every 30 seconds when at a certain level or in a certain group voke every 30 seconds isn't needed. Provoke and a well timed cure III or IV might even be all that's needed. Talk your own job and learn your own job.

to OP:
As for not having Fenrir after a certain point (65-70 maybe) then maybe I'd be like ehhh maybe they aren't that great of a Summoner, but my assumptions have been wrong before (invited a rank 2 WHM 50+ on SAM one time turned out he was really good). So I might be like ehhh well hold on but if I was desperate I'd still invite you.

Romper, /sam is not as effective as /war. Sorry. Nice try.

Double Attack/Berserk > Meditate/Hasso for pure DD/XP PT if you want the highest damage output you can fathom.

does so not your loldrg.

let's went

/SAM may not be as effective as /WAR, but it sure beats the hell outa /NIN!

I don't believe in loldrg, because there's proof all over the net to how amazing and powerful a drg is. Just look at the Legends of Dragoon. lol

You all obviously haven't seen a DRG/SAM work his stuff. They can become TP machines with meditate and Jump alone. Hasso is only a benefit and adds a slight haste effect throw on haste with that it might go to around 20% haste added maybe 17% 12% from haste +5 from hasso. Although zerkcry is nice and gives hate then super jump shedding that hate away after WS I could see the point but what are the mods on Impulse Drive and Wheeling Thrust? STR n DEX? Hasso would give +5 more str ontop of attack and STR gear adding to more damage. You're totally throwing out the possibilities that /sam can bring to the table now for DRG maybe even WAR that's using a Great Axe. Warcry lasts 30 seconds with 4:30 minute recast after activation. Zerk 3 minutes with 2 minutes on recast left after activation. Hasso 1 minute recast 5 minute duration with str+ acc n haste when wielding a two handed weapon (Polearm Scythe Great Axe Great Sword Great Katana Staff).

I'm not saying that a /SAM subjob choice is bad for DRG. I'm saying that in an XP/Merit party, /WAR is better. And yes, I have seen and done /SAM "stuff", /WAR is still better.

I'm not denying that fact Eleibfrid that over-all WAR is probably better (higher STR base more attack boosts), but from what was being said the only idea that could be formed is /WAR> /SAM with no support from Tagrineth. For TP and SC parties /SAM might be better if you're going up against a monk thief or warrior jobs that tend to build TP fast. TP spam /WAR all the way for zerk and everything but Abrasive Tantara sucks so either way sub doesn't matter in that case, but lets branch off into the typical set up that a DRG would party in for merit (usually with a PLD THF WHM BLM jobs that really dont get invites for merits) you're going to have a SC with THF and lets say THF has alot of haste+ in his gear and you don't so they're building TP faster than you and your lone walhara turban don't you think that /SAM in that situation would be more helpful?

Well, Homam Corazza (gives triple attack effect), Homam Gamberias (Haste+3%), Brutal (double attack+5%), and walahra turban all together (more or less my TP setup right now), pretty fast attack speed considering it's a 2H weapon. I have no trouble keeping up with TP when /WAR :)

But in general, /SAM can be good for that purpose.
