That's not fun, not for me at least. Beer gets you drunk slowly, which is perfect for last window camps. Beer is more of a social drink. FFXI is a social game for antisocial people. Liquor just screams "HAY GUYZ LOOK AT ME IM AN ALCOHOLIC LOL!"
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a few shots every now and then. Beer is just more enjoyable to drink over long periods of time.
I don't like beer. Hate the taste of it. Besides, you get worse hangovers from beer and dark drinks then Vodka, Gin etc. also known as "white drinks".
And ask anyone in my linkshell... its not THAT rare that I'm drunk. Especially during sea or other things. I've done drinking games with people in the shell in Sea. Someone dies, drink. An Aern reraise, drink. The NM dies but doesn´t drop anything, bottom's up. You die, bottom's up.

Beer is a social drink, and FFXI is an antisocial game? That depends. You can be social with people in FFXI, and you can still be social with people outside FFXI. Iunno, it might be me living in Sweden, but I'm out getting drunk with friends quite often. And most of the time we don't drink beer... I have a very hard time gettng drunk as it is, I couldn't imagine getting drunk on beer. A few months back I spent over 300 bucks in order to get drunk, and before I went out I had downed 25 cl of Vodka.
I honestly can't imagine how much I'd have to drink in order to get drunk on beer... The only thing I can drink beer for is the 100 minutes game, but then I prefer using something like Smirnoff Ice since it tastes better and doesn't fill your stomache the same way.
hehe Well normally it would be but once you have kids you'll understand why #1 is the reason, I mean yes its very nice having a GF who like to do that for you but if the kids aren't sleeping then you really can't relax , always an interruption. even if they are watching cartoons and being good you feel guilty about making em stay in the room
and sometimes they break things (ie : glass) which she needs help watching em so they don't step on it while she cleans up.
No matter how nice everything is you know you still on your toes if they are not sleeping. thats why is #1
and yes I have sexual favors during plays ^^ nice benefit
and yes becasue of these special favors i have neglected my duties once as rdm in merit and a member or two got killed >.<
but usally i like to get that taken care of before i play
