You know for a supposedly party/community based MMO such as FFXI is listed, they certainly love to do everything humanly possible to split people up and get em all pissed for nor apperant reason. A worth-while translator, fixing the economy, not dicking people out of xp earned when it's incredibly easy to just write the code to add total xp per character to a xp cap change, and more serverwide events are the common bitches i keep hearing across the boards. I can only imagine SE gets the same garbage in their inbox .. i mean after all who would want to play a game where everyone worked together and tolerated each other, could communicate efficiently, and didn't have to sell a kidney for a hauby/scorp harness/(insert your favorite item here)/etc................. i know i'd have an absolutely shitty time

Aye, The rams and greater birds in the medows con vt and it to a 75 >.<

yeah, the rams (the better xp of the two) -- they do max hp down and mass petrify, TOTALLY not worth the camp and ridiculously hard for the amount of xp you get. and the birds just hit really hard.

Ya the Rams and birds suck hardcore brought my hp from 1553 to under 250ish with that max hp down move.

There is a very big difference between saying someone doesn't deserve to be at end game with earning less exp than someone doesn't deserve to be at a golf course because of their race. Very big fucking difference. I have nothing further to say on this thread.

I'd agree there is a very big fucking difference as well. ^^
But, that's how analogies work. Country clubs and FFXI have no relation, but in Cubs' example, which was an example of how you were acting and nothing more, he was dead on.

Then there's the part about 2 months not meaning anything. All those new 75ers would be 75 sooner or later. Let SE deal with making the changes. If you don't like something about it, the options are to either write the company, quit the game, or bitch. You choose the option to bitch, hence you solicit responses with analogies regarding your behavior.

Konartist, you are kinda comming off as a big bitch....

Only one thing changed. It now takes people less time to get to seventy-five. That means more good and bad players.

It means a lot to me, as it will probably shave a few MONTHS off my trip to seventy-five. Not everyone has over five hours a day or seven days a week to play this game.

Being a player who goes out of his way to have fun, help others, and do the questy content of this game i would have to see that as a good thing.

It's not that they're going to be 75 now and they weren't then, it's that the endgame is going to be even more packed than it is now in a much shorter time. They could have used that extra couple months to expand the end game, so that people wouldn't get to 75, get bored, and quit. There's nothing about denying them from ever reaching 75, just that speeding it up when there's already not enough to do is a bad choice.

Also, the analogy was extremist, and really is a poor choice for his position. Cubs' example is regarding flat out denial of entry based on race, or some other form of discrimination. All that Firestreak has said is that there's way too many people getting here to fast, nothing based on discrimination.

A much more relavent(and far less extreme) example would be that the endgame a glass, with water being poured into it at the rate people hit 75. Before, the trickle was slow, so there was plenty of endgame for everyone. But now, the flow of water is much faster, filling up the glass in far less time. Eventually, the glass is going to overflow, and the endgame will suck with 10 LS's camping each pop nm in sky, LS's fighting over who gets to do dynamis at what time, etc.

Oh, and another thing. What about Sea? Isn't it a direct parralal to sky?

Thus, if you hate the crowding, there is soemthing to do about it no? I dunno, I'm asking as much as I'm talking... :?

People are pushing to get to sea, but most people don't have it yet and are really far off. Plus, I don't think there's any gods in sea yet. Eventually it will be an alternative, but until SE finished the CoP storyline and more people get it, it isn't.

Actually that's not all that Fire said.
Cubs' example is dead on in that it is an analogy that fits the behavior, not the literal example.
As I mentioned, it's SE's job to deal with expansion, crowding, and any other issues...And we have our options.

Well for starters that's cause I probably am. But I'm just kinda upset because even though all this shit happened months and months ago, Firestreak is still a total dick. I mean I made an effort to forgive and forget and apologize but his dumbass just does not care. I mean I think everyone deserves a second chance but this guy is just a total waste of space. I mean who the hell holds grudges that last for months and months. I mean I have been seriously wrong by people including stolen items and I dont hold grudges that last this long.

Then the asshat gets off by constantly calling me a guy every chance he gets just because he sees fit to. I'm guessing its because he has had a serious lack of female companionship, hence the reason he plays FFXI so much. Well whatever that doesnt really bother me ecause I could care less what people think of me (obviously).

Funny thing is, even after all of this I could still forgive and forget because there are more important things in life than holding grudges and hating somone over a video game. Hey Firestreak that black list you brag about having over 100 people on....Just think 99% of those could be your friends now. Yes thats right 99 more friends than you have now.

All I am saying is, if you dont want to forgive and forget and you want to constantly bug me about this shit then just dont say anything to me or post shit about me. If you dont want to be friends then blacklist me on qcdn.org

The way you act on this game shows alot about how you act in real life. Yeah maybe im really upset and act like a bitch, but at least in this game and in real life, I have a good heart and can be friends and get along with most everyone. Its really too bad that 4 jobs 75 dont mean you're a good person in real life.

And no I'm not picking on everyone with alot of jobs 75, cause my bestest best friend in the game is working on his 3 job 75 and has like 5 60+.

Anyways sorry it was so long and if its total crap then I apologize.

Apparently you do....

Anyway, SP you know I love ya, but I gotta disagree with you. I think you and Cubs are going overboard a tad here. I re-read his post and all I saw Firestreak say is that Sky is becoming overcrowded and SE needs to add more content.

Well, he's right. There is an overcrowding problem. It's evident just by taking a look at the FB. It's all HNM this, and MPK that, etc, etc. I didn't see anything in firestreak's post calling anyone undesirables, and I have no problems calling him out if there were.

If there's overcrowding, I never disagreed with that. I'm just saying that SE needs to deal with it. And they will, eventually.
Till then we have our possible course of actions.
Some of us tend to come off as whiners about the state of things in Vana'diel, when really none of us have any control over that.
Cubs called it like he saw it, and I agreed with his analogy.
Just as the Hitler > Colbwa example was given, and that appeared extreme, one could say that Fire is NOT being a racist country club bastard...In fact, that is not what was being said in the first place.
Mostly, lightening up about analogies and the game is priority it seems.

Let the crowded spots go. Let the analogies go.

But meh...We all have our points.
:)

Sky certainly is starting to get corwded with all these level 75s up there now. You used to be able to find a camp easily now not so much anymore. Just kind of proof that they should have worked on expanding end-game content before lowering the "flood-gates".
He addressed over crowding, and then Cubs made his country club example based on this paragraph.

I forgot to touch on this point - it sounds an awful lot like someone who's upset their country club's taking more applications. From the... undesireables.

Anyone with the desire to get 70+ and Sky was going to get it anyway, this just lets them get it a month or 2 sooner.

Konartist, I have no reason to apolgize to you. You were clearly wrong and I proved it without a doubt. You have never apologized to me, not admitted guilt. All you have ever done is deny and hide behind a smokescreen of bullshit and insults against me. Why should I forgive you if you won't even admit what has happened? All you do is follow me around like some parasite finding places to take cheapshots(in bad taste) at me. Grow some balls, fess up to your actions and we can do each other the favor of forgetting we ever met each other.

1st page....My butt hurts.
There are 4 pages to this thread.
I don't care anymore. People that whined about it months ago are still whining. I wish they'd get over it, but if that's how they choose to view it, more powa to them.

We are over it. Cubswoo brought the topic up not me. He asked for the people previously in the discussion about it to say their comments. I said my opinion on it. I got compared to a racist. What more is there to say? But if always having the last word makes you feel better be my guest.

Go watch Caddyshack. Happy Gilmore, etc and you'll understand what I meant by 'undesireable.' The same thing happened at a country club I caddied at that went from private to public. If you want to bring race into it, that's your business.

I'd agree that being racist would be the literal connnotation that I've repeatedly mentioned doesn't exist. No one is saying you're a racist Fire. I'm surprised it takes so many explanations to try to get people to see this analogy.

It's like this: In many country clubs the members who have been there for a long time don't want things to change. Inevitably one day, someone will be let in or there will be talks of letting that person in. That person may be any race, but the point is that the vast majority (especially the old stiffs) would not want this new person coming in, because they see that as a change they don't want. Ultimately they fear that their world will be upset and they won't like it.

In FFXI, the old timers (some of them, not all) seem to not want things to change because it will ruin things. I understand that you think things are ruined now, by the crowding and such. But the topic is that of the XP issue, which, since the initial discussions, has had nothing to do with the crowding. If it wouldn't happen now, it would happen in two months. SE will need to implement a solution for that and offer more high level camps...Or they could choose not to.

I think (and I can't speak for him) what Cubs was getting at is that he can see the same country club attitude in the words of some of the older players. Fire, I'm not singling you out, because others share a similar opinion to you.

Some JP have started acquiring the Maat Cap...Surely others deserve at least one job at 75. I've never said crowding is not an issue. I just think that when you continue to have the same attitude (much like that of the country club stiff) after months, you should move on and realize that the only way it will EVER get "fixed" is if SE makes some change to attempt to fix it.

And I'd say the attitude from which you are looking at is simply another game from the one I'm playing. End game is about competition. Everyone wants the same NMs, the same Ex/Rare Items, the same big gil payoffs. By helping people you hurt others which is why fairness is a supreme issue.
It's never been about keeping people away from hitting level 75, simply it's an issue of allowing people to get their desired items and move on and let the flow continue naturally instead of accelerating everyone to the top.
There are simply different stages of different FF careers. To say this problem would inevitably happen is possibly true but not necissarily. When you have exclusive access to certain NMs you gain the ability to get all your required items from them and move on, allowing new LS to move in as you pass to the next stage of your FF career.
