Finally after 2 years of playing FFXI, myself and Xean finally got Sea access.
I wanted to extend a BIG thank you to Sirivalin, Lokelani (Evanai), Alianne and Kiersten for having been patient and dedicated to getting past the Chains of Promathia missions in order to get Sea.
This last weekend, we did our final two BCNMs starting with the Airship fight. We went in (WHM, BLM, SMN, MNK, PLD, RDM), and decided to do 2 test runs just to find out what we would be up against. Then we decided to do it for real, and we ended up getting to Omega no problem, however when we finally got him down past 50% and just as we started to use our Polymers we ran into a bit of trouble, and unfortunately we ended up wiping. We raised everyone, but our SMN Alianne wasn't able to die in a safe spot, and so after we raised him we wiped again because apparently even if the rest of your group is OUT of aggro range, he'll still come after you -_-
So anyways, we picked up some more polymers, waited 2hrs for our 2-hour abilities to be ready again and we gave it another shot. This time we managed to get past Omega and onto Ultima, but we had experienced a wipe during Omega which really cut down our time. I don't recall exactly what happened, but I know that this attempt also ended up as a failure so again we had to wait for 2hrs.
By this point, everyone was frustrated but luckily we were all extremely determined to get Sea before the end of the night, so we didn't give up. This time around, I suggested that I change from RDM to WAR59, to hopefully add a bit more damage... which in the end, worked because me and Xean were skillchaining with Sirivalin doing MBs, and we finally beat the BCNM! (Finished as WHM, BLM, PLD, WAR, MNK, SMN)
So next we did the cutscenes, and then went on to the Tenzen fight which was a piece of cake. And by midnight PST (almost 3am for everyone else because they were on EST) we finally found ourselves in sea! (Started at 10am PST, and ended up in Sea by 11:30pm PST :shok: )
We still have a few more missions that we're going to be completing, but I have to say this has been a really fun experience and i'm really glad I was able to get into a static with LS members because with all the ups and downs you can experience during the BCNM fights, its easy to understand why "pickup parties" break and people get stuck at certain missions. Playing with these people has been a blast. We had many breaks (up to 1 month) but everyone gave it their all and stayed committed

Here's one of the fights that we had decided we wouldn't have enough time to complete and didn't want to waste our Polymers, so we all went to melee Omega before an intentional wipe.

Here's me and Xean checking out the cool little creatures in Sea that follow you around. It was interesting to find out that they won't aggro you...
but Evanai ended up discovering that not all are friendly like this guy. The shark looking ones aggro eh Ev? Lol.
Oh and btw, Evanai KILLED TENZEN!!!!!!!! Hahahahahaha!(Inside joke <_<)
