2008 still sucking?

not for many thousands of years? This happens in a cycle since the earth exists.

How long do you think a cycle is ? Every year ? It's not every year we cross the the celestial equator of the Milky way.

talking about this? http://www.grantchronicles.com/astro105.htm ?
I love how they describe the planetary movement as "rocking" in the first line.

Well no. If it's worth anything, I've never seen that site, and there are many of them that are alike that all say new things about that.

If you go back and see what i said, I mentioned what "NASA says". Not what our ancient civilizations say, which most of us ignore anyway.

Even though modern day astronomers have been forced to concur with ancient knowledge, i made this about NASA, for people like you. This is what NASA is saying, lets avoid outbreaks and leave it at that.

This " This week researchers announced that a storm is coming — the most intense solar maximum in fifty years. The prediction comes from a team led by Mausumi Dikpati of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). "The next sunspot cycle will be 30% to 50% stronger than the previous one," she says. If correct, the years ahead could produce a burst of solar activity second only to the historic Solar Max of 1958.`

`Dikpati's forecast puts Solar Max at 2012. Hathaway believes it will arrive sooner, in 2010 or 2011.`" ?

Point is on that December. Im gonna be chillin with my homies probly watching a Baseball game on satellite TV, while i have a telephone on my hand talking to my girl and watching pr0n on the internetz.

It is true that our position in the galaxy affects the climate on earth. One of the Ice Age theories is that out position in the galaxy is what causes the Ice Age.

Anyway, there's several variations in the sun's energy output. It is widely accepted that the sun's energy output is increased by 10% every billion years. There's also so-called Sunspot Cycles, and volcanic eruptions on the sun. Additionally, the sun can, like earth, change its magnetic poles, causing a lot of activity on the sun. These all affect the weather on earth.

Also, Amid, the Milankovitch Cycle is the long-term one, which takes in to consideration only the 41k year cycle of the earth axis tilt. There's also smaller ones in-between (a "nodding") called nutation

Oh, btw. It is generally accepted that the Milankovitch Cycle, earth's position etc. is not alone enough to change the climate enough to start or end an ice age. However, together with other forces, such as the earth's normal cycle or sun's current climate, it could potentially be enough to speed up/slow down the process.
