*I know this is in the wrong forum, but I kinda would like some responses a lil faster^^*

Since I just realized that the "cheaper" 20GB PS3 doesn't have Wi-Fi built-in (and it's already been shipped...), you think an external USB Network Adapter (say from Linksys) would work?

I thought that the fact that both features (hard drive size AND wireless capabilities) were "nerfed" in the crappier system was common knowledge. <scold>Why didn't you do a bit more research on what exactly made the cheaper console ... cheaper ... before ordering?</scold>

Meh, I'm one to talk. If it wasn't for my utter distaste for Sony this time around (meaning I'm not touching PS3 with a ten-foot pole until they fall a few more pegs, and get off their High Horse), and the fact that I wouldn't settle for anything but the "best" one, anyway ... I may have done something similar. Still, though, I thought that both reduced features were widely known.

You'll be able to return it, if all else fails. Just don't even open it. Call your online vendor, ask for a return call tag, and a refund. Unless you bought it off of eBay ... then, you may have to face the possibility of being stuck with a wired connection. I just don't know a lot about the hardware. :/

I'm sorry. I wish I could be of more help.

I've been checking up the PS site, and allegedly no USB adapters work (or will ever), but gaming adapters/wireless bridges do, as it connects via the Ethernet port, rather than USB.

At least I'm not stuck. lol

Beggars can't be choosers, considering it was a gift...lol

Bought a flash drive during Black Friday and that worked. I believe you can hook MP3 playing devices aswell. I looked in the manual and it doesn't have a list. Just says USB devices can be hooked up there.

The wirelss capabilties of the system are fine. My 20gig picks up my network no probelm. Blue Tooth isnt all that great anyway.

Assuming you weren't interested in storing old Playstation games on there ... how big are typical save files, I wonder...?

Don't know if you guys know yet, but there was a recall on the PS3's and they won't be shipped out again until March. :D Yay for bad systems from Sony, who would've thought.

Where was that announced? I don't remember hearing about anything like that.

Ditto ... that would be huge news, and not only in "game journalism." Something like that would be economically devastating for Sony, and would be on CNN and the like. Their stock would be plummeting.

I can't find anything of the sort reported anywhere, and something like an "until-March recall" on all PS3s would be friggin' everywhere.

proof or gtfo. I, too, have not heard of any such news.. and that seems like it'd be HUGE news.

QFT

Also QFT

Is it time to move this now that you got "Quicker Responses"?

The only thing Sony and March have anything to do with each other is that the European release will be in March. That isn't a recall, just a later release date.

Are you using a USB network adapter or an adapter/bridge connected through the Ethernet port?
