Sorry if this is duplicate, but ...

This happens when I go to http://www.qcdn.org. Took me a week and forcing myself to open internet explorer(yuck!) to get access again. Only happens when I'm logged in. Yes, I saw the redirect thing in the second post, but I wasn't completely sure it was the same issue.

Warning: Unknown(./includes/vba_global_error.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/includes/functions.php(2767) : eval()'d code on line 15

Fatal error: (null)(): Failed opening required './includes/vba_global_error.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/qcdn/domains/qcdn.org/public_html/ffxi/includes/functions.php(2767) : eval()'d code on line 15

Not sure why that'd happen tbh. Its a simple programming error, but it sounds like it'd be a cookie issue for you. That message is generally given when the included file is not found (duh). An included file is used for various situations, for example, I would guess that the entire website uses various included files. It simplifies programming by a lot. If there's a piece of code a lot of your webpages use, you can make it easier on yourself by simply putting it in another file and include it on the pages that use it, instead of rewriting it every time. It also makes it easier on you, as instead of rewriting it on EVERY page that uses it if you need to change it, you simply need to change the content of the file.

From that error message, I would guess the vba_global_error.php file either doesn't exist, or is routed the wrong way. The include_path tells you that is supposed to start the routing from usr/local/lib/php, and then extend it with /includes/vba_global_error.php. Not sure why you'd get an error message for that, but its possible qcdn uses a different php version then the board is written in, which would possibly have changed the command used, but I'd be surprised if that was the issue. Another possibility is that its a simple permission error, but it shouldn't give that error then. Kind of rusty on php, so its not as easy for me to tell you what error messages mean anymore in php. Especially if I its not code I haven't written myself.

Either way, guessing you don't get the problem now simply because you don't get an error message, which is the file it attempted to load earlier. Did you try clearing your cookies in firefox?

I do still get it. When I set QCDN to remember me, then go to http://www.qcdn.org instead of http://www.qcdn.org/ffxi/index.php , it throws up that error message. I've cleared Firefox's cookies, and it takes me to the unlogged in main page. That's what made me think it was part of the redirect issue listed in the second post... because the main page (the one you get when you access qcdn.org when you're not logged in) is trying to redirect me (when already I'm logged in) straight to the forums, and coughing up that error instead.

Lord, I hope I'm explaining this ok

yes, its ok. It sort of decreases the ammount of possible reasons why you get that error. The strange part is that not everyone get that error, even on the new faulty first page. I'm rather sure it isn't a pure redirection issue, though, as it isn't linking you to another page. As a matter of fact, the new first page doesn't redirect you at all (unless you get that error soon as you login, on the page that would normally redirect you to your previous page).

The error itself lies in the coding on line 15 where it tries to include the error message. Thing is, depending on the coding, it doesn't neccesarily give you an actual error. It could still include the file by default, which I'm guessing it do, as part of the website structure. Reason ilI believe this is the case, is due to the "global" part of the file name. However, in this case it should give the error more often, and for everyone, which is why I find it odd. This is sadly something I believe only Nox or Reeve can fix, as I believe it is a programming error. I don't think Miros has acces to those files.

Ps: typing on ipod sucks, so excuse the possible wall-of-text.

hit the back button twice and click a thread, I use the pol option and it shows me logged in. I just logged in today and I didn't get the error since i use the qcdn.org so i assumed it's fixed

Also, not sure if this is a function or a bug, but I would bet my money on the second.

If you go to someone's profile besides your own, you have full mod powers. That is, you can edit, delete, undelete, unapprove and approve visitor messages, as well as view their IP, and full conversation, even if it is not your own profile.

I somehow doubt that is a feature, and I think its a rather serious bug as you can view their IP addresses :p Not sure if that was possible earlier, but I somehow doubt I gained mod powers in the profile section while I was at work, so I will assume its been there since the update.

eh, i never noticed that unless it was my own profile, i wondered what approve and unnaprove meant so i clicked them and used the approve command under but nothing happened. It gave a "no valid choices selected" or something like that.

I just looked at yours and Jamal's profile but none of those commands came up, could just be a certain person in general

Maybe it only appears to people with mod status in one section (read: LS forums)?

Check your profile. I just edited one of your messages to see if I'd get an error or if it'd go through >.>

So yes, I doubt that is a feature. Lol

i feel so vulnerable don't touch me again D:

I LoLed so hard at where you put it.

Mods editing other people's profile comments has already been pointed out. o-o

There seems to be a problem with ppl being able to edit other ppl's personal comments in their profiles. There was a comment made to me last Friday that somehow got Edited today.

Upon further investigation, I'm also able to edit other ppl's comments. Is there a permission issue with ppl who have mod status in their LS private forums?

Btw, whoever edited the comment left in my profile, o0o0o0o0o0o you got me D:

Uzor, I already pointed this out on the first page :) ^

Edit: Blue beat me to it lol
