as all the other 360 users, i need to use my disc to play the game. unfortunately i see some major scratches coming on and am getting worried it wont work in the near future. i see slower than normal log ins. what do i have to do if this disc no longer works, buy another? please dont say it. any 360 users go through this yet>?

I've been having slower-than-usual logins as well. :( Looked at my disc just now, and I see a lot of small scratches on it...

The only solution I see is buying another copy. :/

You could always pick upa $15 resurfacer from any game store, it's a temp fix at best, but it will last you a while if you use it enough, But eventually, yes you will have to buy a new copy.

Well here is the obvious answer. Take care of your shit. Thank you that is all.

some 360s scratch the disks as the ~CD tray is 2mm to high or something if you got one of the first ones. if not then putting in disk at an angle and its getting damaged?

atleast on PS2, you can fix that yourself. Just open it up and move the laser down 1-2 ticks. Dunno how the 360 is built though =/

Eveen Ps3 has some fuck ups now they have gone back to ps2 pads not those wireless things (well when ordered my ps3 said have wired pads :( )

Shut the hell up. I think that by now Microsoft knows how to make a fucking cdrom. Funny thing, all of my friends that take care of their stuff, and bought 360s the night they were released still have perfectly fine CDs. If you're shit is scratched only you are to blame. Case and point, take better care of your shit, slob.

Oh so that was every 360 except for the 2 that my friends bought that have never scratched a disk...right. Plus WTF would a CD case have anything to do with a CD spinning in the drive?

Edit:
Ok after reading that... don't move your shit while it is powered up and reading a disk. I don't know but that seems like common sense to me.

You might want to read the entire page fully before making that comment.

I'm unsure if you guys have the guts to take apart the system and then opening up the Rom Drive to apply the rubber pieces. But if you do the best solution is to order those Thompson Drives for $4.99 from The Llamma's site and then check Xbox-Scene for picture and tutorial references. I have yet to hear any replacement rom drives you can purchase or MS's replacement policy. It appears the MS probably won't change them, and if they do it'll probably be the same drive as i'm sure MS has an abundance of these DVD Rom Drives.

Best choice is probably buy one of those disc buffers Oracant suggested.

"take care of your shit" comment from captain obvious.. HMMM.
i here nasa is hiring some new rocket scientists. nowhere did it say that i dont take care of my shit little boy so stop trying to start shit and play your internet bully role.. better yet forget what i said if you really are just that dumb. simple question was asked if there is an alternate to having to buy another copy if i ever had too. THANK YOU other posters for the replies.
