360 vs ffXi

so who's gonna move over to the 360? do u think the 360 will bring more people to the world of FF or just have people that already play switch over?
 
I'm definitely switching but only cause my PS2 (second one btw) is on its last legs and I couldn't justify spending any more on anything with Sony written on it. Anyways, I don't really know how much new blood it will bring to the game, certainly not as much as when it expanded to include both PC and PS2. But who knows, maybe Microsoft will actually conitnue to support it and not make a version of the 360 that doesnt even allow it to be played, as Sony did.

The majority of 360 FFXI players I only see are being ones that migrate from their pc/ps2 account to the 360. I really don't see that many new players coming in.
 
I dunno why people would buy a 400 dollar system just to switch over to 360 and rebuy FFXI for 360 just to play on the console. Play on PC guys, PC all the way.
 
If I ever do get the system, I'll probably alternate depending if the computer is in use or not. My PS2 was taken hostage by my GF to play FFXI. ^_^;
(Well not the new one; the older model one. I have both.)

But I'm not in any rush to get the 360. Its just too expensive.
I'd rather wait till it get real cheap. All systems eventually go down in price.
Besides there is no telling if the early models of the 360 will break down easily.
(Ex: PS2 earlier models)
 
Basicly cause my pc is crap and its a helluva alot cheaper than getting a pc that will run it well. That and I'm sure there will be other games worth getting for 360 :)

I consider my PC and my chair one of the nicer ones on the market and even then I would go absolutely fucking bonkers playing FF.

Too uncomfortable to play PC games.

Too geeky too. That's right you heard me say it, we play the same game but PC gamers are geeks, and geeks suck.
 
This is what you do: Buy a 360, sell it on Ebay make about $800 from that, and wait for the Playstation Three to come out. I've heard rumours that FFXI will be one of the debuting games for the $500 PS3 system.

Im goin 360 because i dont ever want to buy a high end pc and ps2 blows chunks anyway

I just hope we dont get all the stupid Halo xbox live hackers playing.
 
Heh I really doubt it's gonna be a lot of people who play on ps2 to move to the 360, some people are fine where they are and would rather not spend that amount of money. For $400 no thanks, 360 better have other games I want to play, but atm it doesn't. Sides last I heard FFXI on 360 isn't til Summer '06.
 
I honestly don't care to play it on Xbox 360, I spent well over $200 just to get it played on my ps2 and I love playing it on ps2, so I'd rather play it on a ps3 if it means graphic improvements in stuff if I can just insert my harddrive over to the new system, install the game on it, and possibly just buy a new expansion.
 
360 will target the eroupean market for new players. in eruope ffxi was relessed on pc not ps2 . thus the reason for new world <actuly severs> base mainly in europe heard the new expansion was mainly for 360 players. and why not throw a little bit in for all of us to. i am gonna stick with ps 360 i know will be nice but the only upgrade in need for myself is a ps3 although i feel sony should of made hdd cappable of networking to your pc manly to share information music playlists and emulations for older ps and ps2 games
 
Im getting 360 FFXI since it wasnt released on PS2 over here ; ; because I want to be able to play it from my bed.

PC version is great and runs perfectly, but playing games at a PC for long periods sucks as its so uncomfortable.

I'm all for the 360 version but would still like to know a confirmed release day. The website I ordered it from in the UK says its out on December 9th (a week after the console release???) which I find hard to believe. But hey, you never know :)
